Did any of you idiots hear what the players said about Pease running the offense?? Fontes and White talked about how excited they were. They talked about explosive plays they drew up and how they were actually going to run them in games, unlike last year. They talked about how there was a major emphasis on spreading the field and using the entire field to help the run game. They talked about the critical part of the screen game game to open up big plays as well as help the run game. They talked about how Pease is going to do everything he can to get our best players on offense the ball (Junior Bergen).

Putting aside the alleged abuse for a moment I still remain confused about a few things concerning Pease. He has been on staff since BH returned. So where were all the new explosive plays, spreading the field, screen game etc in the last five years? Has he just been a goodsoldier doing exactly what Rosie and BH told him to do waiting for his opportunity but taking absolutly no initiative on his own to promote his ideas? That doesn't seem good. Or does the BH culture demand that potential ideas for change are not allowed and those provideing unwanted advice and innovation won't be around long? Doesn't seem like that is a real good recipe for success either. I guess we shall find out more next season but something just doesn't smell right to me.

Not sure why there were not more, but, Riley during pre and post game on the air comments he made a point of certain plays that were specifically put in by Pease. Several of them were using Bergan's skill set.

Might it also be that there was deference given to the OC? You can suggest all you want but if Rosey wasn’t listening or had a differing philosophy then what else could he do? Go over his head to Bobby? Create division amongst a coaching staff that are supposedly friends? All that sounds counterproductive and much more hassle than it’s worth. It could also be that he knew Rosey would get demoted if things continued so he made a business decision to keep his mouth shut. There are lots of possibilities, but they are probably all WAGs.

Another pertinent question is if Pease is the offensive mastermind/savior some proclaim him to be, then why was he toiling away as an FCS position coach for 5 years? If you have enough talent, it usually transcends baggage. And more specifically, if he is such an obvious the answer to our offensive woes then why didn't Bobby recognize this sooner? Shuffling the deck chairs doesn't seem like a solid plan for profound change.

This is an absolute head-scratcher for me as well. It's hard to understand...let alone explain.

I am not sure he has to be a mastermind to have more success than the previous OC. But in typical fashion, it is just another example of Griz fans overhyping elements of the program.

Maybe so. Hard to figure out how a guy sits on the bench if he is better...seems a HC would see it or know it rather quickly. But, who knows?

You mean the guy who touched the ball less than 2x per game? All THOSE plays?

Brent is a great guy, possesses an outstanding football mind, he’s demanding but fair and I am blessed to have him as a friend.

Correct. He was a little abrasive when we were in college together. We are 58 now. Maybe things have changed a smidge? lol. The kids he coaches love him. He has a dry sense of humor and always seems cranky. People who don't know him are usually the ones that demean his character.

This is what I have heard from people who know him and observed, but I don't really know him. Have just been around him.

Phoenice is going to have to step up and take over the offense at some point this season.
That speaks volumes of your knowledge on the subject. Pease and Vidlak are going to lead a great Griz offense this year and will demand more from the TEs and tackles, so Phen-phen will have his hands full with his current assignment.

I think it speaks volumes about your know it all knowledge. You're going to look like a fool soon enough. Some of us remember your pearls of wisdom regarding the griz defense before last years cat game.
