Pawlak is really getting out there looking for linemen.

Now if we can just recruit some kids named Moses, Noah, Paul, Peter, David, John Jericho, Abraham and a tough, inner-city Hispanic kid named Jesus, we can tell our opponents at the coin toss @ midfield and throughout the game, " It's Judgement Day for you, Click, and we

And in addition to calling our opponents "Click," which will very much offend them, we can also call them " Slick, " even more 😉 offensive. ( This is a Lego post, snapped together one paragraph at a time due to my high-speed, low-drag typing abilities !!! )

Why is Nebraska terrible?
Why don't you research that?

They have no patience with their head coaches any longer. Been a problem since they got rid of Solich. Plus, they haven't adjusted well to the Big Ten.

Nebraska has a lot of talent running deep in the state. Like Montana, there high school football is king there.

Mars, I’m telling you. MARS. Vastly underrecruited.
They grow ‘em hard in the nose up there. Real lunchpail, dirt farmer kids. We’re talking blue collar, meat n’potatoes, hard-working, knock you down and help you back up kids.

Far fewer than 1/3 of Nebraska's roster is from Nebraska. The vast majority of those are walk-ons - in step with the school's excellent walk-on tradition.

There may be an opportunity to get a few of those dudes on scholarship in Missoula. Omaha produces some very, very good players every year...

I'm glad the Griz seem to be widening the net.

Agreed, however the instate tuition for a walk-on at Nebraska is under $11k, walking on at Montana without some sort of financial assistance is 3x that amount.

NEVERMIND - apparently I’m too dumb to understand context! 🤣 Yes, it would be waaay more expensive for someone from Nebraska to walk on at Montana! Move along nothing to see here!

Certainly some of the Nebrska walk-ons may be worthy of a scholarship at Montana...

I think that pool - not just at Nebraska - is a fertile talent pool.

It's also among the reasons Nebraska is canceling their spring game. They don't want other schools to see and then poach their talent with alluring NIL deals...

I'm not sure height is the most important thing, especially in our scheme and in the way football is going. To put my cards on the table, I love having big, bruising, downhill linemen. To me, that is how I understood football to be played the most effective and dominant way. We are seeing that the modern game isn't requiring big, tall linemen anymore and I'm having to accept that I'm just wrong about it. Average NFL Lineman was like 6'4" last time I looked. Journey Grimsrud would have been our best returning lineman, and he was 6'3. Brandon Casey was 6'5". Forbes was 6'2", and he was amazing for us.

Also, if it does make you feel better, we added some real size in the class of 2025, so he does value it. We added these high schoolers --
OL- Kaikoa Kanakaole 6'5" 330 (St Louis HS) Honolulu, HI (3 Star)
OL- Lincoln Hoefer 6'5" 250 (Meridian HS) Bellingham, WA (3 Star)
OL- Quinlan Hyatt 6'7" 270 (West Valley HS) Spokane, WA (3 Star)
OL- Ezra Meyer 6'5" 250 (Big Sky HS) Missoula, MT

I think he is on a really good track, and while I don't pretend to be an expert in Oline play, people who know a lot more than me tell me that he is in the weight room with these guys, they are buying in, and that he is a hell of a line coach. I'm putting my faith in Pawlak

One inch is not going to make a difference. I would take technique and athleticism over an extra inch or two every time.
