Participation, Paladins, and Pass Interference

52 Griz took part in an epic game, so many twists and turns, could have gone any number of ways.

Not sure if there are stricter limits on players dressing or it was just that the dark uniforms made it tough to see sidelines but, for what it's worth;

Simpson, Vidlak, Ah Yat, Detrick, Osteen, Dreis, Lincoln, L.Brown, B.Lang, Klumph, J. Ramos, and McPherson were dressed but didn't see the field. Again I could be wrong but I didn't see Liam Brown on the field. The line for most of the game looked like; Casey, Grimsrud, Forbes, McCabe, Pantiloff

Saw Buehler, Stevenson, and Ray on the field after game. I am assuming lots of other RS and un-dressed players were in the stands and on the sidelines.

I only put "Paladins and Pass Interference" because I was feeling alliterative, except to say that yes, Graves (who had one of his best games at safety) held a Furman receiver late in the game. Earlier Corbin Walker got literally tackled by a Furman receiver on what would have been a warm up level interception attempt. GO GRIZ!

It may have been that he just ran down the sidelines for the celebration, but if you look at the first Bergen TD, McPherson is one of the first guys to celebrate with him. I'm taking that as a good thing, a D-lineman that can run well enough to play specials.

Griz got some home cooking from the refs but they have been on the other side of it too. I don’t agree that it should happen but it does and in the long run it tends to even out. In any case I really hate when it happens on critical plays, for either side. The offsides on the field goal that wasn’t called could have been one.

Walker for sure played, you would have to tell me when in the game Brown was in. I might have missed it, but I didn't see it. That being said those Uni's might look cool at night but they are hella hard to read the numbers on if it's a quick shot on the TV.

Good catch, just rewatched the first quarter, McPherson was out there on the first two returns. At first I thought he was just off the bench to celebrated but good for him, he was out there! I think for the first time this year and big moments for it.

Liam played in the first half sparingly. They subbed him out mid series on one drive I recall.
You sir are correct and I stand corrected. Went back and watched the 2nd quarter and he was out there for part of one series. I'm slipping in my old age.

Theyve given up 29 penalty first downs to 18 that they've benefited from. With little to no effort, other than expending some breath, they could clean up the roughing and taunting calls. I have no idea why this isn't important enough to address, given they extended a Furman drive that resulted in points.

Giving NDSU first downs by penalties is giving them POINTS! Can't pull that sh*t against a good team. AKA beating yourself.

Both walker and Liam brown played sparingly in the game.

I watching carefully to see if either guy played. I did not see them on the field except to warm up. I then checked the participation list from the Griz Athletic site. Neither young man was listed as getting playing time.

Walker was on the field playing left tackle for much of the first quarter, you can see him blocking for Cliff's TD run at 25.58 on the TV, Liam Brown can be seen at the 45.02 mark after a short run by Gillman. He was out there for several plays on the that series. The participation list is notoriously inaccurate and would be shelved as a work of fiction in most of the better libraries on the planet.

If the two PI’s had been called it would have been 120 yards. The Griz have been plagued by committing penalties. Nothing new.

Walker came in at about the 3d series. Played for a few series. Then, I didn't notice one way or another.

And if every holding call on Gub would have been called they’d have had 200 yards in penalties.
