Even though it is Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day, let's take a second to remember the people brutally murdered in the streets and concert halls of Paris this past day. Amidst tragedy and heart ache like this, it's important to remember that while football is important, it is a game. Bigger and more dire things are afoot.

My prayers to our oldest allies. At least this Grizzly will wear a tricolor in honor of the fallen. Vive la France! Liberté, égalité, fraternité!

Le peuple de France et Paris sont dans mon cœur.

Military Appreciation Day couldn't have happened at a better time tomorrow. A great reminder of all our military does to keep us safe here at home so tragedies such as what happened in Paris don't happen here at home. Prayers to everyone in Paris tonight. God bless Paris, God bless our troops, and God bless our soldiers who sacrifice their lives so that we are safe at home.

The French are suffering from their inaction in a similar way to their lack of desire to resist the Nazis in WWII. They are lovers, not fighters and have rolled over for the Muslims. We will see if they actually figure it out this time.

Very sad day. Not to be insensitive but sweet post Super. You just went over the heads of 99% of people that visit this site.

True, not a football thread, but IMO, relevant. I agree with all you have said here, tempered with one thought of caution. While we as a country, continue to gather in massive crowds at sporting events, concerts, etc, the possibility that it WILL again happen here is real. Don't kid yourself into thinking even though we have not been hit lately, remain vigilant. For I have a sickening feeling it is headed our way again.
Go Griz !! Beat the Eagles today....

Not relevant to Griz football or FCS. :delete:

I am going to let this one slide for a while... too important. If another mod wants to move it I'm cool with that, but sometimes we need to put athletics aside and talk about an issue that is more important than football. This is one of those times.

Obviously S&W wants to talk about it or he wouldn't have posted. Right? Right?

I guess their strategy of not getting involved after 9/11 didn't work out any better than the rest of the world, maybe it's time to break out a new deck of terrorist cards and let the whole world hunt them down.

Thoughts out to all the families of the victims.

Prayers to Paris and all affected by this tragedy. It is now past time for global unity and resolve to hunt down and eliminate Muslim extremists. ISIS must be hit hard, and quickly. Thank you to all American military personnel who help keep us and others around the world safe.

Tragic event and thoughts to so many families that lost loved ones. This is one more reason to give thanks and to honor our military and really all those that serve world wide. I hope the US can assist France in tracking those responsible and then flatten all they know!

My heart goes out to the people of France.
I was in Paris in July and everyone was wonderful to us.

There is nothing to be negotiated on with these other bstrds.
I hope we rain hell down on their heads everywhere they can be found.
Then continue to do so until they are no more.

I second the blessings, but this bullshit has nothing to do with our soldiers.

If you need military personnel at a little concert in your greatest city it's way past time to reconsider your immigration policy.

Correct.

I know this is a football website but I wanted to share my condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones in Paris and other places through senseless acts of violence. If anybody wants an interesting perspective on the situation you should check out the Ron Paul Institutes article; "You Don't Want to Read This"

Am in Paris, staying in the 10th arrondisment a few blocks from the carnage at the Bataclan----one of the restaurants where 11 people were shot I have walked by many times in the last 10 days. The streets have been empty the last two days, and Paris is scared stiff. Amid all this grim news, it was certainly wonderful to read of the resurgent Gus-lead Griz. I had watched in person the pathetic Weber State game and was about to give up on the Griz for this year. I'm heading back to Montana and hoping for some post-season football in Missoula. Just have to deal with the Cats next week.
