Pam State applying to go FBS Independent

The administration hasn't gone FBS because UM can't afford to do it, and there are haven't been any opportunities for years. Stadium revenue is important but that's not why UM doesn't go FBS.
UM football fans accept watching opponents that are of questionable quality as compared to Mountain West opponents. The UM administration will continue to force feed inferior opponents to UM fans as long as the current robust revenues exist.

Which has zero to do with what hoops said.

The UM administration and Regents will not jeopardize the school and athletic program by taking a big risk, especially financially, of hurting the finances and quality of the school and putting its successful athletic program at risk as long as FCS and the present program are feasible and a good place to be. If FCS is no longer feasible or a good place to be, and another level becomes financially doable, UM and the Regents will surely look closely at that.

Nothing is being force fed to fans. No one including the school forces anyone to follow or support Griz football. Record attendance and record season tickets are a good indication of the current status and quality of the program.

The UM administration has had their eyes wide open for a long time.

I hope that if they are presented with a possible opportunity the appropriate review will occur. I agree that a change has to be financially feasible, however, I’m not sure I agree their eyes are wide open.

Man, you reaalllly gotta be Lil Brother on another level to brag about spring football attendance. Especially on the board of the team with the MECCA, and who sells more season tickets than sac has ever had attend a game.
