Well damn ... no joy. Final WSU 24-20.

EWU put up a hell of a fight.

D played well in the second half holding WSU scoreless...just got put into a couple bad spots in the first half.

Nothing to be ashamed about for EWU. They played them tough.

A game of no defense.

Yeah, giving up 350 to a Leach Air-Raid offense is no defense.

We held them scoreless in the second half. 250 through the air and 100 on the ground is pretty typical numbers to hold a BSC offense to... let alone a "high-powered" FBS offense.

Speaking of no defense, UM's allowed 21 in the first half against App so far... :coffee:

My post was half way through the 2nd quarter when it was 21-14 after 22 min. in the game. Want to comment on the defense up to that point?

Regarding Montana defense, two of those three scores in the first half came off of turnovers, not defense malperformance. Montana made ASU punt 8 times; doubt that will happen again all year. Four turnovers will kill any defense. They know we showed up; think you could do any better in Boone? UM 42 min. TOP. You will have a game on your hands in Cheney, freshman QB and all. We got banged up a bit; how about you?

I do think we could do better. Our D has held two FBS teams to a combined 27 points and 600 yards. Pretty respectable. We're also +1 in the turnover battle between the two games. We came out fairly healthy. WR Greg Herd might have a concussion from a cheap late hit, and Padron looked hurt early, but came back in and played the rest of the game. We now have our bye to heal up and get better.

3 teams that belong to be demoted from the Pac 12 WSU, Colorado & Utah.

OSU is actually beating Wisconsin 3-0 in 2nd.

Imagine this conference:

Montana
Montana State
Idaho
Wyoming
EWU
Washington State
Colorado
Colorado State
Utah
Utah State
Air Force
BYU

Washington State and Idaho are FINO.

FBS In Name Only.

There's a couple guys banged up some, and Herd is probably out a while with a concussion...that was a very scary moment if anyone saw it. I think KP has something going on with his ankle and Bronson hasn't even seen the field yet this season with a hammie, although he should be probable for Weber and our other backs have been just fine thus far. Overall, pretty healthy. I think this bye comes at the right time for EWU after an emotional loss, they'll have two weeks to prepare for Weber and get sime guys healthy unlike last year's close loss to UW and then coming out the next week and laying an egg to SoDak on the road. Tough loss, but we'll be fine.

Fair enough...although from having watched both teams, WSU is improved from last season and quite a bit better than Idaho, especially offensively. I think they will win some games this season. Idaho maybe not so much.

Here's, what I think is, a cheap shot that may keep one of our key recievers out awhile. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1348013/Deone-Late-Hit.gif" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That would be a great regional conference. Do you think anyone would want to include MSU? Maybe Utah State--nobody wants to be the weakest team in the conference.

Ranger,

Was the db flagged for that? I hope!

Yeah, he was. That play happened on the final drive when we were trying to get one in the end-zone to nab the win. I imagine when the Pac-12 takes a look at that, he'll be serving a suspension. Against UNLV, it probably won't matter much.
