Outstanding interview with TD on "Talking Hoops"

If you love Montana Griz Hoops (who doesn't on this forum?) then you MUST take 40 minutes to listen to an outstanding radio interview with Griz coach Travis DeCuire from earlier this afternoon on TALKING HOOPS, the NW Hoop Scoop with Jim Basnight in the Seattle-Tacoma basketball community.

Not only is this one of the most down & gritty discussions of college basketball I've heard, but it is a deeply revealing portrait of coach DeCuire, his extensive philosophy of basketball and his strong beliefs regarding kids & community in college basketball... boiled down concisely toward the end of the interview with a brief phrase -- Enjoy The Process -- which he articulated with passion.

You'll also get some of coach DeCuire's most detailed profiles of his 2016-17 team and specific players (some hints about how the Griz will play this season) and an estimate of his timeline for Montana basketball success.

There's more in this than any interview program I've heard on sports in general. I've got it bookmarked for a second listen tomorrow morning.

Thanks GJ.

What comes through is the intense respect DeCuire earns from anybody who knows him. Thus, Mike Montgomery at Cal; Ahmaad Rorie's Mom, the night I spoke to her at the USF game two years; the guy in on this conference call with DeCuire.

I always say, character is destiny. DeCuire will go far. Let's appreciate him while we have him.

That was an interesting listen. Interesting how closely-knit some of these coaching communities are; and Travis has his early relationships and seems to blend them nicely with his UM history. Fun to listen to.
