Hav really showing some stripes here. Not hypocritical at ALL! lmao

How's that hypocritical? Havre is strong in just about every sport. One down year in football isn't really something to be concerned about. Last season, we won wrestling AGAIN, went to the semis in football, played on Saturday night at both basketball state tournies, and finished fourth at state in volleyball. Not sure how I'm being hypocritical.

Look dude, I don't actually care about the subject all that much, but I was reading in another thread where you got on someone (reinell30) for saying something about Kidder getting off the LOS, who by most accounts is a grown-ass man. You chastised him for calling out a dude in anonymity. Then, you do the same thing, but to an entire community and high school (not grown-ass men). At least that's how it appeared. Maybe I missed something there, or there's something in the Havre-Ronan competition that I don't get.

Again, I have no stake in the matter. But if you're gonna call a dude out be real. Not meaning to be a dick here it's all good. And it's been many years since a GRIZ loss upset me to the point of furniture-breaking. Consistency however would be nice...

Why the hell did the eGriz profanity censor change "furniture - breaking" to look like fucking??

Seriously.............that was supposed to say furniture - breaking. Not fucking

My name is George Ferguson. I kinda assumed everybody on here already knew that. But ok.

Perhaps it was assuming the words being uttered during the furniture breaking?

Haha They were indeed not pleasant. But that's been since probably 1998-99ish. My priorities have changed some since that time...

Still trying to figure out why we were in man press coverage against Kupp with no help over the top. That was to easy and a dagger.

To borrow from my BFFs PlayerRep and Growler...

A loss to a clearly superior team has really brought out the pedestrian fans, and clearly none who have played the game.

Speaking of one of my favorite posters, here are some of his comments from the past month or so.

It makes me nervous to play so much man against top passing teams with accurate qb's and big fast good receivers. There's just too much risk of giving up big plays too much of the time. Our guys are good cover guys, but this isn't the NFL (where the corners and secondary are incredibly good).

My concern, however, is how many times receivers have been open by a step, but there was no completion because the ball was not on target. This has happened all season including yesterday.
Yes, a few overthrows may have been the result of pressure, but most were just plain overthrows.

The secondary made too many mistakes in early games and, in my view, hasn't been tested with accurate qb's and good passing teams. We will see how good they are today and next week.

From what I know of it, it seems like it [Semore defense] could be prone to occasional mistakes, which could lead to big plays. The cover guys are good, but today and next week we may see how good they are. Can they continue to play so much man, so that the front 7 can attack.

And what the initial poster said ... is part of what I have been saying for some time now. i.e. can the Griz continue to play so much man, and leave corners and others on islands so much, against accurate quarterbacks and good passing teams? It has seemed all season than accurate qb's would likely have completed a few more long passes almost every game. UM hadn't faced an accurate passer until NAU, except for the CP qb who didn't throw much.

Like many, I am not completely sold on the offense. When it's clicking, it's great. But it seems to be prone to inconsistency and mistake. Maybe that is still the players and their execution. Semore is young and not experienced as a DC. He has alot of good ideas and innovation. He will improve with time. A great DC is not born overnight. It takes years of experience to be able to be consistently a good DC.

I keep wondering if some defense is going to figure a way to defend Stitt's offense better.

Hey, look at the UM numbers this year without the last two cream puff games. I'll give you a couple here. Scoring D is 51st, not 17th, and Rush D is 55th, no 28th, without the two cream puff games. Let's see how the defense does the rest of the season. None of those rankings you posted are going to hold up. They may end up good, but not where they are right now.

I like this year's D and Semore so far, but I will reserve judgment until after the some of the upcoming games. Yes, Semore's system seems to rely less on his signals on each play, but it also means that players have more opportunity for mistakes like not lining up in the right spot. This has happened multiple times this year, and it's hurt the Griz.

Yes, the D looks good this year (minus CP) and Semore seems to have nice talent, but I'm not going to declare the D and Semore great until UM plays some more good teams. The D looked great the past two weeks, but I'm not going to hang my hat on those 2 games. Yes, Semore likes to talk X's and O's. .... And, has Semore not said that the D didn't play well against CP, say he took responsibility, say that players are not lined up in the right position at times, say the secondary makes too many eye mistakes, say the D has to do better after turnovers in bad spots (and not give up easy and quick scores)? Semore may turn out to be the best DC UM has ever had, but the D stats so far this year don't even come close to the great defenses of the 2000 decade. Not even close. I like him and believe he is talented and promising, but I will wait to declare him the savior.

Yes, very nice numbers so far. We will see if they hold as the competition gets tougher, and with road games. UM didn't any any MVS's early last year, nor a bad team like SS.
