i've heard he regularly provides information about many of us to the nsa.
also, i mostly agree with the gist of this thread. the fcs division is what it is, a lower tier of football that typically doesn't attract a lot of fans. if folks don't like "their" team being a part of it, they should advocate for moving up to the fbs.
CDAGRIZ said:Eriul said:CDAGRIZ said:Eriul said:Lol @ brints post. Regardless of how stupid the op is, he has a point. Our arrogance is kinda overwhelming and embarrassing. We are the big dogs of the FCS. Yes NDSU is winning right now but we are the face of the FCS. No one can deny that fact given our tradition. However the amount of disrespect towards other teams is just out of control. Montana and App state fans have a great relationship due to the amount of respect we have for each other and while no other team besides NDSU may deserve that amount of respect we should at least try to give some. It makes us look arrogant and it puts a bad taste in other peoples mouth when it comes to Montana. I want everywhere to love the Montana culture, tradition, and team. And right now we're making more enemies than friends. I'm proud to be a griz but I am not going to go disrespecting every program in the nation because they're not us.
While I think you might have a point in the hypothetical, I'm not sure what "disrespect" has been hurled at CCU. Most of the football-related posts I've seen give them the respect they are due. The attendance situation is irrefutable and, I'm sure, recognized by their fan base.
We'll talk after the game... the 4-5 score differentials on the predictions or the questions of "whether they'll give us a game or not" are disrespectful to me. I fully anticipate for us to win by <2 scores. We'll talk then
OK, we can talk then. I'm not sure how the predictions of Griz fans can be disrespectful to the point that you seem to think. Should all of eGriz should predict a one score game, or a loss, to show "respect?"
Eriul said:So if CC was on their board predicting to win 45-10 you wouldn't feel like our team gets little respect?
Eriul said:It's funny because we bitched when CC and NAU all complained we got a seed. We complained because they didn't respect our accomplishments but we're so unwilling to respect theirs and then say, "nah its not disrespect it's just true."

Eriul said:We're not as good as we think and the rest of the fcs isn't as bad as we think. This weekends game will be close and to dismiss them and look towards ndsu is just arrogant
CDAGRIZ said:Eriul said:So if CC was on their board predicting to win 45-10 you wouldn't feel like our team gets little respect?
I would not, and do not, care.

Most, if not all, of the "disrespect" I've seen toward CCU (which is the team we play next) pertains to their shitty attendance and the fact that they play in a warm climate. Both are objective. Even if we did "disrespect" them for wanting to have been seeded, what would you propose we say in the alternative?
Eriul said:It seems as if you fall under the belief that this game this weekend will be a blowout.
Wrong. And even if I did think so, you are nobody to tell me otherwise.
Eriul said:Maybe acknowledgement is the word I'm looking for but fact is we haven't beaten anyone as good as CCU yet we're acting like we're going to blow them out by 35 when we had to go to OT against Sac...
See above.

Straw man. Good luck to the Eagles on Saturday. Or, good luck to the Cats next year. Not sure which one you are yet.

Oh, I get it. I just don't see the "disrespect" in saying the Griz will win easily. If someone had posted that CCU doesn't belong in the payoffs and is a horrible program, I might agree. As you know, however, the score predictions of 45-10 and the like are more puffery than anything.
Eriul said:Point 3. "It seems" apparently is a phrase that escapes you. No need to get personal over an opinion, you don't know me and I don't know you so don't try and measure your epeen on here.
Agreed. Then you must agree that there is no need to call out a fan base for opining on a score with the backing of historical data.

I don't think we will either. Those who do may be right, and they may be wrong. But I don't think any CCU fan has said he felt disrespected by predictions of a big Griz win. It's part of sports, and you should get over it.

You think a 10-2 team doesn't belong in the playoffs? I immediately lost interest in your opinion...
Historical background? What historical significance does our teams of 4-5 years a go have to do with next weeks game? I'm sorry but this is a whole new program since the fallout. We aren't as dominant as we were for those 12 ish years. I'm not quite sure how anyone who has actually watched the games this year could think that...
And their fans feel pretty disrespected... Coastalfans.com. Some things were already copied and pasted. For reference http://www.coastalfans.com/forum/index.php?topic=57261.0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Post #3... didn't even take me 20 seconds to find.
Sorry you feel offended by my opinion and the opinions of others. Maybe don't take it personal because it's quite obvious our fans are arrogant...

Nice try, but I did not, nor did any post I've seen, say CCU doesn't belong in the playoffs. That would be disrespectful.
With regard to the rest of your garbage, yep, all Griz fans are arrogant and predict a final score of 45-10. You got us. Now go tell your friend(s) at Bobcatnation.
Want to talk about illegible men down field?
Buttegrizzle said:BW that was awesome. Mr. Green is a full time griz hater who won't be happy when we win and gets angry when we lose. Personally, I've seen the Griz program evolve since Dornblaser days and I'll damn well cheer for what we have built and maintained for decades. Even if the Griz lose to CCU I'll still be proud that 26k came out to support the program every day. I wouldn't expect NDSU to restrain their pride either. These programs, like App, are more than just a winning record. If all you have is a winning record, well, that would just be EWU.
I have been one of the most negative fans in regard to some of the coaching(which I admit I still am not 100% happy), but as for the overall Griz experience, we have something special. PR is right on, we have something pretty amazing-among FCS teams and thus comes arrogance among a few fans. I include myself, but I will take that any day over what just about 100% of what other FCS schools have going for them.PlayerRep said:What is annoying is:
the lack of appreciation for and understanding of:
what UM has built in football in the last several decades and what it has achieved,
the fantastic stadium attendance and atmosphere for a school at the FCS level, and
the nice season UM has had this fall;
the negativism of some "fans"; and
the large number of ill-informed and unappreciative bandwagon fans. This category also includes some of the fans that are arrogant and put down other teams.

You're misinterpreting what CDAGriz said.
What CDAGriz obviously meant by that comment was that he might agree that people are being disrespectful if someone had posted that CCU doesn't belong in the playoffs and is a horrible program. He's not saying he would agree that CCU doesn't belong in the playoffs.
