Lol @ brints post. Regardless of how stupid the op is, he has a point. Our arrogance is kinda overwhelming and embarrassing. We are the big dogs of the FCS. Yes NDSU is winning right now but we are the face of the FCS. No one can deny that fact given our tradition. However the amount of disrespect towards other teams is just out of control. Montana and App state fans have a great relationship due to the amount of respect we have for each other and while no other team besides NDSU may deserve that amount of respect we should at least try to give some. It makes us look arrogant and it puts a bad taste in other peoples mouth when it comes to Montana. I want everywhere to love the Montana culture, tradition, and team. And right now we're making more enemies than friends. I'm proud to be a griz but I am not going to go disrespecting every program in the nation because they're not us.

While I think you might have a point in the hypothetical, I'm not sure what "disrespect" has been hurled at CCU. Most of the football-related posts I've seen give them the respect they are due. The attendance situation is irrefutable and, I'm sure, recognized by their fan base.

It's a fan board... most of us here realize Coastal Carolina is a very good team and deserves to be in the playoffs. Because of that they might put up a damn good fight or even pull a Wofford on us.

At the same time though we can't just flat out ignore how teams from the south have often come in here with great records, great talent and all that then got their asses absolutely stomped while looking like they want nothing to do with anything colder than 50 degrees and couldn't handle large crowds. So people will talk about it. Big f**kin' deal.

There's a reason Griz fans are pretty confident when we play at home against teams from very warm climates. We draw very well, our stadium is in fact very loud, and yep...it does get cold here! Oh and we usually have a pretty damn good football team too.

Here's a reminder of how teams from much warmer climates have done in Missoula in the playoffs since 1995.

2011
Central Arkansas: 9-3 coming in with an 8 game winning streak. Griz win 41-14.
Northern Iowa: Not southern, but a Dome team. 10-2 in the very tough MVC going into the game. Lots of bitching about how they should be seeded higher than the Griz, which is why I put this one here. Griz win 48-10.

2009
SF Austin: 10-2 coming in. VERY confident that Mr. Moses is going to kick our asses. Forget how to play football once the cold air hits them and they turn it over 10 times. Griz win 51-0.

2008
Texas State: 8-4 coming in. Good game actually. They were ahead 10-7 at halftime. Griz won 31-13. Nice fans if I remember right. They are 6-6 in FBS now (Sun Belt).

Wofford... fuck... yeah there's always an exception to the rule, and that exception was caused by Wofford's triple option. They did turn it over 3 times (2 picks, 1 fumble), but ran 60 times for 333 yards (5.6 per carry). We had a chance to win as time expired though, just missed a long FG. Griz lose 23-22.

2006
McNeese State: 7-4 coming in. They had trouble moving the ball only getting 224yards in total offense for the game vs the Griz and their 514 yards. Griz win 31-6.

2005
Cal Poly: Not the same as team from SC but still from a warm climate. 8-3 coming in. Honestly I didn't expect us to win this game as we had a LOT of struggles at the QB spot the entire year and a very shaky (at best) passing attack. Griz lost 35-21. Cal Poly had Ramses Barden and James Noble. CP ran all over us for 293 yards.

2004
Northwestern St: 8-3 coming in. 8-4 going out... Griz get 543 total yards of offense, NWST gets 177. Griz win 56-7.
Sam Houston St: 11-2 coming in. They CRUSHED us 41-29 in Texas earlier in the year. We couldn't handle the heat. They handled the cold about as well as we handled the intense heat. Griz won 34-13.
