my calculation too.

sort of amazing we've heard no rumor, gossip, innuendo, hearsay or hairspray about the remaining one or two recruits. the weber board speculates on prospects two years out.

Pretty easy to find. Too bad, no Bigs listed here. Scout showed no names.

You had it right Grizrule. Emerson is on scholarship this year. Bradshaw was a walk-on but I would guess he got Wiley's money for the second term. We don't have any knuckleheads on this team and everyone showed they belong so I doubt anyone will be pushed out. So, unless someone leaves on their own accord we only have 1 scholly to give out.

If I were to guess, the reason we have not heard anything is because the coaching staff is still pondering what to do. I think it comes down to how much they trust that Kemp will become what we all hope he will. Bruenig and Martin should be able to hold down the 5 and Weisner is a great roll player at the 4. The question then becomes can Kemp start and play big minutes at the 4? If they don't feel he can I would look to start hearing about JC guys coming to town. If they feel confident Kemp is the guy I think they may look at bringing in another HS kid. Christian Evens from Bigfork being a solid possibility. The kid from Glendive is thought to be a project so adding another high school kid that may not be able to contribute next year is a bit of a risk but it may be one the staff is willing to take.

Considering that I was raised on the standard "model" -- two guards, two forwards and a center -- and that the Griz essentially developed the success that it managed to have this season around a five guard team, I think that's just extraordinary. Really, that is a measure of outstanding coaching and Player and Team "heart."

It may be just coming in second or third in the Kentucky Derby, but it's doing it with a Pony instead of Secretariat, and ahead of offspring of Native Dancer. It has a merit independent of the final result, which wasn't bad at all.

Wayne did a great job with what he had. Pound for pound, he beat the league. I am also impressed with the development of key players.

Kids that were sitting on the bench two years ago now have the discipline and the skills to take it to the best in the conference and win WITHOUT having the usual necessary balance on a collegiate basketball team.

Coach and Team: EXCELLENT SEASON.

if we are talking two years out, then my big hope is for Tres!

Already offered by Utah, and still a year of HS ball to play. I loved my time in Missoula and the degrees earned, but to compare UM to UU...no. Much better education, PAC 12, Krystko. I believe the only reason Tinkle hasn't moved on is for Tres to graduate high school. His daughter chose Stanford, passing up UM. Tres will make an equally intelligent move.

Perhaps that's the crux of the problem...how did we end up with "what he had".

I think our big man talent wise was just fine. I don't think Tinkle has the knowledge to develope a true hard knocking big man. He wasn't one himself, and unless he has an assistant who was, it will be a long hard road. Before the defenders storm out of the woodwork, I watched Wayne play all his years, and watched Larry as well. Very different styles of play, and we need a Larry type.

I am not going to debate whether Tinkle was an aggressive or a finesse player but I will go on record that the big man talent was most definitely below average, sub par, however you would like to say it.

Our big man talent was not "just fine" and Kemp and Weisner were forced to play out of position when put in at the five. Tinks did a pretty fine job with Quale and anyone who suggests the talent was fine and the deficiencies were the result of poor coaching is way off base IMHO.
