Boom crew...1st game jitters or just slow as usual....the boom after the XP is anti-climactic to me

No Cotton-eyed Joe?? Do we have another "woke" DJ that thinks its racist?? Music in general was horrible and hopefully they do something different.

Montana/Grizzlies chant on offense, come on folks we know better LOL.....lots of things to clean up on and off the field :) :)

I think Cotton-eyed Joe was played before the kickoff after Gillman scored his second TD with about 9:30 left in the 4th quarter.

First game for a bunch of new students attending the game - I'm sure they'll learn not to start the Montana/Grizzlies chant when on offense. 😅

I'll add "Jay Kohn" to your list of things that have to be fixed. I know he's trying, but my word is he a terrible football play-by-play guy. It's like trying to watch football with your barely-sports-literate neighbor who is surprised and amused by everything that happens on the field. "Oh, he didn't hand it off! He faked me out!" "Let's see if they can stop them on third down this time, they haven't been very good at that so far."

Did you guys ever see that episode of Monk where Adrian brings 3x5 notecards with generic conversation points on it so he can talk about football with the guys? I swear that's Jay Kohn.

i want to like him. he seems like a nice guy with a friendly moustache. but, dear lord, if you are only doing play by play for one team, you should know the numbers and the players.

It's not just Jay, many play-by-play announcers seem to forget that the primary part of their job is to explain what's happening on the field rather than telling long involved stories about the players or the team etc. Maybe they need to go to play by play announcer school. Ha. I don't know why but that network seems to always have difficulty getting the down and distance onscreen and Jay is terrible about announcing it before each play, leaving the viewer to wonder what's going on. And he manages to talk a lot and not say very much.

I've definitely noticed it more with the color commentators than the PBP people. Where I grew up, we had limited cable. We did, however, get TBS and WGN. Therefore, every kid in town was a Braves fan or a Cubs fan. Those were the games we got to watch. Accordingly, I was witness to the most ridiculous color commentator in the history of sports: Harry Caray. I swear to God, there was a game where the Cubs had two runners on in the bottom of the 9th, and Harry was talking to his broadcast partner (Steve Stone) about how he had dinner with Steve's dad the night before.

No point to this post; I was just recalling some stuff I found funny.

Just an edit: I'm pretty sure Caray was the PBP guy. 😂

He's a fantastic news anchor. Growing up in Billings, he was always the guy my parents would watch. Did a great job. Those skills just don't translate apparently, however.

says keyboard tough guy....any day loser any day..................."woke" isn't necessarily meant as political but yet people come on and bitch about team, coaches, etc thats ok with your small dick energy?? It was a post noticing that the DJ sucked and in the past the UM didn't play it, I inquired why and was told the song was racist, I told them to research the song and if you are not looking to have your feelings hurt the song is fine....it played as usual no issues.....simple question. off my soap box now GFY

Idea: How about instead of attempting the play-by-play, he just reads from a teleprompter a scripted, 60-second summary at the end of each quarter. That would be just like the old days for him, and it would be quite enough for me.
