Regulation ended, 89-89, for MSU - EWU.

Could see this coming, the way the score went back and forth.

A loss really doesn't hurt the Eags, but a kittie win will surely change the tiebreakers for the conference tournament seeds.

Edit: broader coverage now.

Montana State Lost in OT. So, no need to get excited over whatever tiebreakers would have been changed. Just hope that Griz win out and Both Weber State and Northern Colorado lose either tonight and/or Monday.

Saw that MSU lost. And Weber has already won (trounced NAU), so they and the Griz are still tied. NoColo game starts in just a bit. It's in Pokie, so I guess there's a chance. But I won't hold my breath.

Maybe I'll start holding my breath. The Bengals are hanging with the Bears, and even had the lead at times in the last few minutes. Definitely rooting for this upset.

Edit: Well shucks! The Bengals couldn't quite pull it off ... lost by 2 points. No big change for the Griz. They just opened up another game between them and the lower tier. I don't know enough about the tiebreakers to predict how the Griz and the other top four will be seeded. (And, of course there's one more game.)

Weber State split with Montana in head to head. Split with EWU going top to bottom.
Weber State Swept Northern Colorado head to head.
So, Weber gets second seed if they win Monday.

Griz split with Northern Colorado in head to head.
Both Griz and Northern Colorado were swept by EWU.
But, Griz will get third seed due to Northern Colorado due to Griz splitting with WSU and NCU being swept by WSU.

Of course, the above only applies if there is a 3 way tie.

NCU is playing NAU in Flagstaff (Guess you could hope for an upset).
Griz are playing ISU at home. Griz should win.
WSU is playing at the school many Griz fans want to lose no matter what. But this time, it is much to the Griz's benefit they win. Maybe it will be snowing so hard in Bozeman that the game can't be played until next friday.

So I saw the tweet from Frank Gogola breaking down the scenarios. If the Griz, Weber and UNC were to all win or lose, then Weber is 2, UNC 3, Griz 4. If the Griz win on Monday and either Weber or UNC loses, the Griz will get the 3. If both Weber and UNC lose and the Griz win, the Griz will be the 2 and Weber would be 3, UNC 4.

Griz vs. Idaho State
Weber @ cats
UNC @ NAU

Of these 3 games, I think the team that is most likely to lose is Weber. The cats played pretty well today and on Thursday, plus it’s senior day in Bozeman on Monday and teams have really struggled in Bozeman this year (Eastern, UNC both lost in Bozeman).

I do see a scenario where UNC could lose to NAU in Flagstaff, but NAU has been really up and down this year. That’s a long road trip for UNC though starting in Ogden, then Poky, and now down to Phoenix and up into Flagstaff. 3 games in 5 days on the road is certainly far from ideal, and at elevation no less.

Should be a really exciting finish on Monday. Hope it works out well for us!

The Griz did not split with N Colorado.

Yep, my mistake.

The Griz lose all the tie breakers among the three tied for 2-4. Best the griz can hope for is UNCo and WSU both losing. It's possible, but unlikely. NAU was totally gassed in the second half at Weber. Can they recover in one day's rest? Maybe, but UNCo looked like the fresher team to me.

Both NAU and Weber substituted liberally in our game Saturday. I think both teams were thinking of Monday's game. I think it worked a little better for Weber due to our depth. That depth could be a factor in Boise as well.

I'll be in Boise no matter where we end up. I'm sure there will be a bunch of UM fans there too. Will there be another Cinderella story like NAU last year? There certainly could be. The only two teams who don't seem to have a prayer are UI and Sac, but even Sac is playing better lately. UI is looking like some of their players have already been told they are not coming back in the fall. UI is playing like they just don't care. Can someone come out of the bottom four and win 4 games in 5 days? It's possible, but highly unlikely.

Out of the top 4 teams, who has the best chance? I would say it's a toss up. Depth could be a factor, but really it's just about who gets hot, when.

If it's not Montana, I hope it's Weber.

The kitties might be doing the Griz a favor. They lead Weber by 9 with a little over 3 min to go.

NoColo already took care of business, so they end as 12-6 in conference. EWU losing at Sac State, plenty of time left.

Meanwhile ... GO GRIZ!

Not really. With PSU looking like they are going to beat Idaho. I think the Griz are the 3rd seed and PSU will likely be their first opponent at the 6th seed. If Weber won, the Griz would have been the 4th seed and maybe MSU would have been 5th (I don’t know who owned the PSU/MSU tie break) but as it stands now the Griz play PSU. I am sure they would give you all the right answers, but if pressed, they would much rather play MSU than PSU.
