The Oregonian posted an article saying that Vigen was an obvious choice if Scott Barnes (OSU’s AD) had any sense. Interesting article.

First start for Ah Yat 1.0 No TV. Had to pace listening to Mick and I think Brad Salonen was still the color commentator after doing the’95 National Championship Game. I don’t believe he had stepped away yet. That was two wins in a row after Grady and the boys won against the Beavers. Was at that one in person. I remember Joe Kalafat terrorizing their big, slow offensive line. He lived in their backfield. Their coach said his linemen couldn’t get their pad level low enough to block him. Joe was a strong, quick dude.

I think good coaches will. It’s a stepping stone job to bigger things. If a coach has P4 aspirations, then this is a hell of an opportunity. Jonathan Smith took OSU from wining 2 games a year to a top 10 team in his career there. It has been done before.

The X factor in this is the status of the PAC-12. It was still a power conference during the last rebuilds. Now it’s not. Definitely going to be an adventure!

Wazzu is not terrible. They're 3-3 and they gave Ole Miss quite the scare this weekend. Ya the North Texas loss was bad but outside of that they've been ok.

I don't think the coach is the biggest issue for WSU. Probably not even top 5.

I think he's doing decent enough at Michigan State that he'll get one more year of leeway before they cut him loose.
