oru vs Montana game thread

Barn Ball, banged up? Were they limping around?

Anyways, I meant somewhat meaningless in the Griz's job to secure the #1 or #2 seed in the conference. Thats what I was getting at, should've pointed that out.

Criswell was ankle sore going into SAC State and was a little limp city throughout today. He had his share of Criscoulisions today and came out of the last one in front of the ORU bench a little sore.
He looked a little tight with the trainer just before the game.

Mathews has had some shin splints but had a nice shot today and was impressive. Beside those SAC people were a little small for him but he fit in with the big fellas today.

Somebody dropped Ellis on his tail bone the other day. He played the game right thru it but he was not movin that well after the game. When he left the defense in their tracks late it would have really been somthing if he was at full speed. But it was great to see him zip by a lay it up there.

Wouldn't a true Democrat have been skipping the game to stage a anti-George Bush rally? :thumb:

No because most are cowards! :thumb:

One more win and we have our first 20-win season since 1996-1997. I arrived in Missoula during the Montgomery-Krystkowiak-McBride years when 20-win seasons were almost routine. I think this is a big deal.

Most of those 20 win seasons had cupcake schedules though, that doesn't mean those guys were not good coaches but go back and look at who they played, pretty weak. Y9ou always knew Simon Fraser was the first patsy.

What I think would be cool is if the major conferences had to send a bubble team each to a promising mid-majors court every year. They could truly call that a bracket buster.

Exactly!! That's what this stupid tounament should be. It should be those 4th-8th place teams in the "power" conferences that always make the touney with ridiculous win-loss records against good mid-majors. That would determine who should receive the bubble at-larges.

Kind of dissapointed with the crowd today. Why can't we put a team away when we get up by 15-20 points. Seems like we always let them back into the game. I realize that Krysko took Dlouy and Strait out and the end of the half to keep them from foul trouble but they were up by 20 in the second half and OR came back within 8. We need to knock teams out when we get them on the ropes. Wow, they were some long treys Dlouy and Virg put in.

The crowd ws disspointing. I can't belive more people couldn't get off their butts. I have to disagree with you on the game though. It isn't like Oral Roberts was chopped liver. They have an decent record while playeing a much tougher schedule than the Griz have. The have played Utah State twice, Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Marquette, Tulsa, Valparaiso. We outboarded them by five and they have average 6 more boards a game than their opponent. The first 10 minutes of the second half we played awesome. Krysko subbed and they made a few buckets. Each time they got close the Griz pulled away. I thought it was a nice win. We need everyone to get to the NAU game.

No doubt that ORU is a very good team. But as pburg points out, the Griz have lacked a killer instinct all season long. Not sure what that's about.

Still, another nice win for the Griz. Now let's get ready for NAU, and let's pack the house and get LOUD.

Not only this game Grizbacker, but they had huge leads in other games and let teams come back on them. The road trip to Northern Arizona and Sac State come to mind earlier in the season. I was really surprised how Montana outrebounded them though. Their team had some big dudes out there. Had to laugh at the pep band and the little show the little dude from ORU put on when he fouled out. Gotta love it.
