Bump, here is the actual story and outcome, to set the record straight. I know some egriz douchebags were completely trashing this kid for the below. I wouldn't be surprised if some use this as an opportunity to do it again. The reason I posted this here is to set the record straight about the fact this this was a mistake, it was something in an over the counter substance that Ortt admitted he should have rsearched more thoroughly.

Ortt tested positive for a banned substance that he didn’t know was in an over-the-counter supplement he consumed, according to Vigen.

“It was a supplement I took that I didn't check well enough,” Ortt said. “I had the tools to check it off and I didn't, and it tested positive for something that is banned by the NCAA, and so I had to pay for that.”

Or, he took the supplement knowing what was in it, thought he wouldn't get caught, and then told this story when he got caught. What was the supplement? That would help people figure out if this story is credible or not.

Yep, I suppose your scenario is possible too, and I'm sure you'd be suggesting that scenario if this were a griz player? lol, NOPE. As for the supplement, I have no idea but we're talking over the counter shit here, and that's all I needed to hear. Probably took a fuhging Tylenol PM for all I know.
He's a great kid from a great family, and I believe he's telling the truth about all this. I mean if he knowingly took something banned by the NCAA, I'm guessing he'd be taking something stronger than something he can pick up at Target.

Last, IndianOutlaw is dead on. Many of these players at all levels probably have something in their system that's banned by the NCAA, accidentally. Fortunately for griz nation, you'll probably never know because you'd need to win a semi final game for the players to get tested.

I’m happy for him that he’s clean now and can play, I just wish I knew what he took so I could invest in whatever OTC supplement that lasts for a minimum of nine months. The ads would write themselves. Clinically proven.

Is it possible for anything, let alone and OTC supplement, to stay in one's system for 9 months?

It's actually pretty obvious what he took

What was it? I know nothing about this stuff. It wasn't around when I played. Most people didn't lift either I never saw or heard of anyone taking steroids or other enhancers. Just mushrooms, peyote, acid, speed, marijuana and beer. Real man's stuff. Those drugs didn't enhance the muscles, but they enhanced the party.

It's been around in a huge way since the late 70's. It's rampant among football. I am not going to say what it was but it's easy to figure out with a simple google search for ped clearance times.

This is probably your best post of all time!

Didn’t he say it was still in his system when he was tested to be reinstated, and that was the cause for the delay? I thought I saw that, but please correct me if I’m wrong. If true, that was quite the supplement, whatever it was.

Edit: 3:40 mark. Maybe I’m misinformed.

I love how a bub cat troll “bumps” this thread to “set the record straight” with the “actual story” and then continues to bury the lede—this had nothing to do with paperwork and/or muffins like we were told!

My neighbor wanted someone’s head at MSC for this bub-flub. Seriously, he said someone in the state college ncaa compliance office should be fired because of the “paperwork” delay.

Bubcats are about as rational as the square root of pi.

It makes for a lot of over reactions by bubKarens. Like we can’t even discuss a bsc player issue. We have to talk in code or a bubKaren will take a screen shot and threaten a lawsuit.

His coaches have all said he's clean, some parents of other players and parents of starters have said he's clean. At an expensive fundraiser where a bunch of boosters paid stacks to be there, the coaches said everything was alright. Even a guy like me who has never played the game would agree that everything is fine. Jeez do you guys even know how dumb your responses will be?

I googled. I don't know what I am looking for. Give me a better hint, please.

Google steroid detection times. There is only one that takes longer than 5 months. And it is not administered orally.. it's been popular among football players since the 70's.

Wow. I had no idea how many there are, how easily they are obtained, and how long some of them can stay in your system. There was a class of steroids listed that can stay in your system up to 18 months. They ranged from the long of 18 months to the shortest one being just a matter of days. It may have been OTC but it was definately not some sort of vitamin or herbal suppliment. I'm sure he knew exactly what he was taking, just not aware of the detection time. I truly hope that this wasn't suggested by a coach or trainer.

I feel like I'm playing charades on a scavenger hunt.

We might have to bring in GotGame for some consulting.

For athletes, it is usually deca and nandrolone that are used. It is crazy easy to get. In fact, a trip to Mexico is really all you need to do.

Sorry...I missed your previous post with the list.

Also, many times they cycle, so they may use different combos that "do different things". Often they will use the short term for rapid cycling and to change it up. It is a crazy science. Not exactly sure who we are talking about, as I just scanned through and was responding to the steroid comments. Did a Griz get caught or a recruit?

Nevermind. Now I read the thread.

Shit, I’d like to do a cycle someday. Must be pretty amazing given how many athletes risk it. I’m gonna be bombing it down the fairway, bitches.

I cannot think of an OTC supplement that would be in your system for 9 months but I can think of a PED that could.

Looking at the video, his face looks much thinner and his complexion has cleared up compared to the photo on ESPN.

Hey. In those days I also drank Mateus or Lancers when I wanted to impress whatever babe I was taking out.
My wife has much more expensive tastes than that garbage.

If he only chosen Dianabol, you know, like we did when I was playing, they might not have any way of detecting that anymore. Someone on here is lying, he knows about Dianabol. Big back acne & skin felt so thin you were afraid to turn the pages of a book for fear of a massive paper cut.
