NCAA has its field of 64 plus the play in

What amount of bids do the NIT people offer now, I am thinking it was 48, have they increased bids to NCAA number?

and last but not least, IF Griz do not win the tourney, and finish with a 22-9 record, what chance would they have for a bid in NIT, thinking no way for any thing else is even possible.

If they make the championship in conference play and take second I would think the Griz might get an invite. But that is purely an uneducated guess.

Last year there were 32 teams. Not sure if they have expanded it for this year.

I say Montana would have a decent chance if they make it to the BSC championship game. WSU will be automatically in if the wildcats lose in the BSC tournament.

I was thinking because the Big Sky is a little better this year, the 2nd Big Sky team would have a good chance. But according to Sagarin, it's not much, if at all, better than the last few years.

this year: 18th/33
08-09: 17th/32
07-08: 23rd/32
06-07: 19th/32
05-06: 17th/32
04-05: 27th/32

One thing to remember is included in the the Griz 19 wins is 2 wins over NAIA teams - the NCAA does not count these as wins when considering tournament invites, so if the Griz beat MSU, win the first round game and semi final game but lose championship game they will have 20 wins, not 22 (I assume UND now qualifies as a D-I team, not positive though). I doubt 20 wins is good enough for an invite to any tournament without the automatic qualifier.
