Only One Guy

Absolutely incredible hire. Seriously, we could not have wished for any better. This Stitt guy is the real deal.

I keep hoping this will be like school of mines for him. And that it would take a very special job to lure him away. You wouldn't think he'd want to relocate his kids again. That's pretty hard on kids. So here's hoping his kids keep him firmly grounded in missoula!!

put me in that camp. I never gave up on him. Not once.

Now BRADY? Him I gave up on. And I'll gladly admit I was dead wrong about that.

But I think perhaps the best thing that could have happened to that kid was to sit a few games and get an even BETTER handle on the offense.

I completely agree, Coach Stitt is amazing. And, I was trying to imagine this morning, no offense to Brady, he has been very good, what this offense will look like when he gets a QB that can run and pass, like, perhaps Willy or the Jensen kid. Even now, when it's clicking, it's damn near unstoppable. But, damn, I don't think we have even seen half of the playbook.

How much money does it take to make a move worthwhile. Disruption of kids, spouse having to start over again, etc. 1 million, 2 million? Unfortunately we will probably find out in 2018. My guess is that is when the real offers will start rolling in.

After one year here? Probably not much. I think the opportunity alone would basically be almost enough draw

We pay $175k. I'm gonna guess it would take a fuck of a lot less than $1 million to "disrupt the kids".

I don't disagree and that is what worries me. Coaching carousel will continue.

Maybe. $175k might not be much in the realm of college football coaches, however, it's a solid wage that at the end of the day will get you a nice place in missoula, a town with a draw of its own in regard to its outdoors and proximity to fantastic skiing as well as it being a VERY unique college town environment. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but he turned town jobs that payed twice as much as his current salary at UM simply because he loved golden and the offer would not be the right fit.

But,if it's someplace you can golf year round........

He may be looking to supplement his income. At the presser he did mention, "Everyone who said we couldn't get here should have to put a $20 on the table." Could we make that part of a contact extension?

For twice as much? Probably not. For $750k? $800k? Hell, even $650k....

Not sure what the "retirement" plan is for college coaches...but you don't get many opportunities in life to quadruple or quintuple your salary.

I think a lot more than one guy believed in this team and never gave up on it. A lot of people on the message board and comments you'd see on Facebook were of fans giving up, but I don't think that represented "all" of the fanbase.
