One Game At a Time, But Might Be Interesting Topic Sun.

:o :o I know Griz will need to get the ugly job done on Sat at 2:00 vs Eastern Washington. But it might be an interesting topic to speculate on how thrilled the bobcats would be to see Montana show up in Portland if they do. Some of the Montana players may have left the wrong impression in the televised game in Bozeman. I would speculate that some Montana players will welcome another opportunity to make a better impression. How may be more important than how many. :o :o

I think it was a FORCED impression our backcourt put on your players. When you are getting drilled on both ends of the floor most players tend to get frustrated. The Grizzlies can win it, but they are going to have play a lot better game in their backcourt to do it. Davis will get his usual 15-20 or so. Its how the other players respond that will be key.

Should be a closer game this time I would think as well. Unless MSU goes on another 3 fest again.

:o :o Thanks for the input. Yes the three fest. Can be feast or famine. Norhern Arizona lead the nation in three point field goal shooting percentage in 97-98-99 and then when they got to the NCAA the three was not there. I think Danny Sprinkle had the three going thru the big sky and in the NCAA it disappeared. Montana has had to abandon the three in order to survive because the expected fest just does not materialize. The shorter fellas have learned to shoot the three only when wide open or shot clock running out. Montana's taller fellas have just begun to chuck up threes. Unfortunately they have made enough to keep experimenting. Dlouhy was and is effective from three but lately he just jumps from the three point line and lands with a slam at the basket. :o :o

I think Martin and Criswell have been much much more effective driving to the hoop rather than launching threes i hope it continues against ewu. What is our team % from behind the arch.
Cat fans how many games have you been hurt by launching too many threes? I know the three helped alot against the griz but has it hurt you in any paticular games?

Only every game we've lost. :o

I think the Griz will beat EWU, but I hope they don't. I don't put too much stock into us beating the Griz 3 times in one year.

I think this Saturday's gonna be either an ugly game thats close, or a high scoring game, thats close.

EWU's going to be pumped that they get a 3rd chance at us, and I would expect them to bring their best game, since it's now lose & go home for anyone in the tourney.

I just hope the Griz nation shows up in force this saturday, for BOTH games.

The Cats will have the Grizz's number for the third time. Not Cat colored glasses just the reality. Griz guard play all around is second rate to the Cat backcourt. They are simply better (and not just the three ball)

Front court is a wash. Big Al - Siefert Moss- Davis

From what I saw at Cat Griz #2 there will be no Bell to Tramel off the back iron dunk this year.

I agree Re/Max. There is no reason why 5000-6000 fans should not be expected for both games. We've got some exciting basketball going on in Missoula on Saturday and huge crowds will definitely make both games easier to win.

I think that EWU will try to grind it out like usual, but its up to our players to make the Eagles uncomfortable and get the scores up around the 70's. All we have to do is cut back on turnovers and have the backcourt step up and handle the ball well. If this gets done, the Griz will roll.

I refuse to talk about the Bobcats while there is a more important game at stake.

That being said, IF the Grizzlies pull out the big W on Saturday, the amount of momentum going for UM is huge. Hot teams at the end of the year who finish the season strong are always favorites to win conference tourneys.

And oh yeah, a Tramel dunk is not going to be necessary if MSU and UM meet up again.

Trying to see this from the MSU point of view.

MSU will either play WSU, SAC or UM on Tuesday.

The way WSU has been playing as of late, I don't know if I'd want to face them. On the other hand, MSU has had the Wildcats number this season. Weber has won 4 conference games in a row, 5 if they see MSU on Tuesday.

SAC took MSU to the wire in both games and has the athleticism to make any team in the BSC nervous. SAC is also playing well right now, winning 4 in a row, would be 5 if they go up against MSU. They've got some fire going with down to the wire wins over MSU and NAU. Of course, they dropped a heartbreaker to WSU before the run started.

UM will be coming off their 4th straight win if they are to face the Cats. The type of wins they have been getting might give them a little more fire. They closed with a game-winning shot over EWU and then two impressive victories over PSU and NAU.

All three of these teams are pretty hot, while MSU has lost 3 of their last 4. Two heartbreakers against SAC and PSU, and then a shalacking by NAU. They didn't close out the season strong, missing out on a chance to host the tourney. After they took the conference by storm out of the gates, winning most of their games on the road, they are now a sub .500 team (4-5 in their last 9). If I was a betting man, I think I would put my money on MSU to drop their game on Tuesday.

:o :o Interesting ?? No mention of Dlouhy??. :o :o

I would hope that Griz fans would show up for the D1A sport that Montana has. I wish you all the best of Luck. Real Griz fans should not go to only football but Basketball too.
