One Concern

A few observations to put this concern to rest. Brady has swing plays that are a extension of the running game. Even when O line isn't giving much time the short side to side and even quick slants are all working. Brady doesn't need to be mobile, he needs to be quick in getting rid of the ball on most snaps and he has been.

Where he has been trapped in the pocket either the WRs are not getting seperation or running correct routes or maybe trying to get a long play down field. A sack here and thete is okay. He is taking care of the ball and playing with confidence.

Wrs are settling into holes in the zones, slants are being executed, swings, counter runs, they are even giving to jet sweep motion, veer motion is being used giving another wrinkle, JLM injury did not slow offense. Defenses have alot to cover, oh and then the red zone conversions. Liked Delaney's comment, fourth and two run for a TD makes the coach look like a genius.

Most teams would be happy with half of what Brady and the O are getting done. Cherry on the cake, Griz D they are getting better every week. It's nice to want more,but it is also good to give credit to Brady for exceptional play. Chalich looks good also.

When we look at the Griz run attack this year and last it is important to remember that we have a read option running game without a QB who is a threat in the read-option. That is not a knock on Brady, he is amazing throwing the rock, as good as any in the FCS. The read-option requires a QB who can ride the runner and then decide on keep or give, keep is not his suit, so no read and no option. This means the line is caught knowing that that the end and contain man are not crashing and so they are over-manned on run plays. Given that, we are running the ball great.

I respectfully disagree you beautiful canook. We don't have a "read option running game." We have a read option passing game. Big difference. At least in my mind. So everything you said really doesn't apply. But you guys are still great neighbors

We do have a read option passing game, but if you watch our play-action game, it's almost all single back read/option often with a jet/fly sweep thrown in. The option passing game is essentially a pre-snap recognition progression system. Also the accepted spelling is "canuck" originally a derogatory term for French-Canadiens but now accepted as any Canadian or if capitalized, a hockey player from Vancouver who will never win a Stanley Cup.
