OL recruit has serious potential

What a catch! There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on him from a quick Google search, so I imagine he flew under the radar. And recruited all the way from Virginia? I'm pretty impressed by the Grizzly staff finding and recruiting this kid.

I have to scratch my head and wonder how he fits in with Stitt's scheme. In his entire highlight video, he doesn't do any real pass protection. He is a fantastic guy if you want push in a pound the ball scheme, but that isn't Stitt's scheme, is it? This might be the reason he is only a partial scholarship and probably a developmental recruit.

He'll take a couple years before he sees real playing time. What a smash mouth player, I look forward to watching him play in the future.

He's a bully. That is great for us.

Lot's of holding, blocking in the back, and playing too long after the whistle. Undersized. He does look like he has a mean streak though, so maybe the coaches can correct his flaws and turn him into a great player.

Legend is, he recruited Stitt. Something caught his attention and he was hell-bent on playing @ UM. Kid with an attitude like this will find a place to play. Or it will find him.

Good point, his HS team looks like a triple option type of offense. Obviously there's only a handful of triple option teams in college but he would be a great fit for a run-heavy team.

Picking up Thayne Jackson is a similar move, Thayne's tape shows him pulling a ton and getting to the second level right off the bat. Doesn't fit with what we see in Stitt's scheme. However, their mean streak and rawness makes them both great OG prospects. Thayne is already at 300 lbs, give Conlan a year on RS and he could be around 280-300 himself. They'll both just really need to get time with our OL coach and learn what will be expected of them here. Give them a couple years and they'll be in good shape. They both were hell-bent on being Griz though, so their enthusiasm and work ethic are in their favor as well.

Our other three OL recruits look a little more Taylor-made for our offense. Brandon Scott is your ideal pass-blocking tackle, he's huge and moves well. Dylan Eickmeyer is a little shorter but good size, can play center or guard, made to play interior OL. It looks like Ashton Torres plays a little inside and a little outside, but he shows the ability to pass block and push the DL back. Very well rounded.
