Okay, this is what I am hearing from D players

Time will tell what the D players will "say", if they give up 40 points against an 0-3 team this weekend.

The Griz will beat PSU. If they don't, then very long season. You can take my prediction to the bank. Just don't borrow or bet any money on the prediction. Just leave it at the bank.

Sounds very similar to what would be considered a must win game.
While it may be a MUST win, leaving it @ the bank is wise advice - collect the interest while you can. GO GRIZ - It is going to be a great game in PTL this wknd.

But that was 10 days ago. Now EWU is really good.

I mentioned this before too. A week or so ago Eastern was washed up, the reign was over. Now they are going to be Big Sky Champs and make a run on the National Champ. Why is it if a team beats us or if a bad team does well against us they are elevated to a higher status? Could it be that maybe they are still bad and we just didn't get it done?

Why not? Every decent team we beat suddenly becomes overrated...

This will probably draw some hate but we really haven't beaten anybody "good" since 2015, we thought UNI was good but they really weren't, the last decent team we were able to take down was SDSU in the 2015 playoffs before the Bison drilled us. That's a sobering fact and I hate it.
EWU went to the semis last year and were one play away from the championship.

Huh? You're talking to a different group than I am; my group had it as a tossup; big question marks on both sides. If an edge, to UM at home. Baldwin, top 3 receivers gone, two blowout losses, etc. I heard no one that expected EWU to roll handily.

But that was 10 days ago. Now EWU is really good.

HAHA, That's so on the money AZ. Every time the Griz win a game of ANY importance it's: "Well they are down this year." or "They didn't have _ player." Or "The Griz got lucky because they FORCED six turnovers." It's very rare since Egriz came on line, that the Griz have actually ever WON a football game, at least for some posters. It's always more "So and so LOST the game." when the Griz win.

It's stunning how much additional info I can take in after watching it on Root. I thought we were bubble screened to death live, however EWU came out with new plays and looks in the 3rd. Gabrud was a little off in the first half with a substantial amount of overthrows. The 3rd was a total disaster for the Griz. EWU scores and we throw an interception. Another EWU TD and
we drop a wide open TD in the end zone. The tackling in the second half was atrocious. We were clearly out schemed and over matched athletically. I personally think we were fortunate to be in the game for as long as we were... :egriz:

This game was lost for two reasons....mismanagement from the sidelines and lacking concentration on the field. At times I wasn't sure if the defense knew what is supposed to do and the offense seemed almost panicked. Not to mention we were playing a good football team.

Learn and move on I guess.......Go Griz!

Again...anyone else have that theory? Oh wait...if Stitt wants to do it, it's a garbage play...that's right
Compare Stitt's level of success on bubble screens to EWUs. Do his wide receivers get blocks? First series against EWU: 6 yards on first down. Bubble screen - incomplete. Bubble screen - incomplete. Punt. It's been well scouted by now and easy to defend because we don't get the blocks on the perimeter. Someone will gamble, overplay it, and turn it into a pick 6 risk. But you like it....
It may be a good time for the coaching staff to work with their tight ends to improve blocking on the bubble screens and swing passes.

when did you guys get a tight end?

That is my point. We have an offense that does not have a tight end.

The biggest reasons UM lost was because Gabrud is an all-american, very good and had a great second half; the D got very tired, after having to defend too many plays (28 in the 3d quarter, I believe) and started to miss tackles and not get to some plays fast enough; the swing passes were not defended well; the offense didn't take advantage of some opportunities, to score more and to help keep the D off the field; UM was starting to cramp (McKinley, Curran, etc.), lost Delaney, and I think Sandry was limping; EWU played very well, especially in the second half. It had almost nothing to do with schemes. 48 plays defended in the first half, 28 in third quarter, and 11 in the first 5.5 minutes of 4th quarter. So, 76 thru 3d quarter, and 87 in first 50.5 minutes of the game. With lots of those plays requiring plays to spring to the sidelines to defend the swing passes/screens.

Do we have a SINGLE healthy safety on the roster?

Under Mick we did win some play off games but all that is gone now.

In all the years of watching the Griz it is the only game where I think I saw the Griz quit during the game. The rain was ungodly, but it was for both sides. For whatever reason, the Griz just rolled over and played dead. As a fan it is the only time I have felt embarrassed for the players -- though the game against the Cats last year got me really close... but for the coaches in that one.

Mick went 1-2 in playoffs. Stitt is currently 1-1.

That isn't how I saw it however it is now Thursday. What the hell happened to Epperly? He lined up in the slot at about the six yard line and didn't seem prepared to defend. Trailed the receiver from the snap and pulled up at the boundary as he gave up a TD... :egriz:

Mick went 1-2 in playoffs. Stitt is currently 1-1.

In part, because Mick got a seed one year. Mick's last 2 teams also finished nos. 3 and 12 in the FCS poll.

Doesn't make his statement any less false. we did not win "some" playoff games under Mick. We won one. The same number Stitt has won.
