I think its the "late hits" that are the concern; the one this past Saturday could have been a life-changing hit, Dakota was already on the ground and the SUU player came and planted right on his head and the neck compression looked horrific. I'm glad he was able to walk afterward. But, as has rightly been noted, "no call" and the Bats have indeed seemed to suffer from BSC refs on those late hits with no coach protest ....

however, it's clear that other teams are looking to inflict pain on DK and it's not always within the rules. there have been about 5 times i remember off the top of my head (likely more) that he was the victim of a late/dirty hit. what you saw saturday is pretty much par for the course and with the shit refs we have to endure in this league, it likely won't even be on their radar until someone is hurt real bad or killed.

I've been a coach for well over 30 years. Had I been on the sidelines for that late hit Saturday, to one of my players, I would have been ejected from the game. Just watching on TV, I came out of my chair, "what the F***!"

i've seen teammates jump to his defense and on a couple near the sideline i saw the coaches go nuts. yes...even ash! i don't think we need guys getting kicked out of the game but i have no problem with them mixing it up a little.

ideally, the refs would pull their heads out and put an end to it but that rarely happens. so what would keep these teams from trying. if you think the cats look bad this year already...can you imagine us without DK?! oh wait. ya we did that already in missoula...

It was right in front of my face. You watch your QB go down and then some asshole comes in with a flying elbow injuring said QB. I was pissed. Said asshole needed to be ejected.

What a mess in catland. Sounds like Prokup is just doing it his way. He is un coached. Their defense is terrible. They can't decide whether to run Brakey on the edge, or Newer between the tackles. He is not supposed to run so much, but does it anyway. His o-line doesn't know what he's going to do. I think they've given up. Too bad really, and hard to watch. :lol:

I am trying to find video of the "Flying elbow drop" play. I was right there as well, and it was horrible. Also saw about 3-4 different times when the pocket would collapse and Prukop got hit low (knee height) HARD. None of this is an excuse of why we lost. When a team that scores 40+ points can't score on 3-4 strait possessions, AFTER a terrible defense plays great and forces 3 punts in a row.....It will be a long day/season.

It was a bad shot on Prukop no doubt. Could have been flagged but I didn't think it was an intentional type of hit. When your QB assumes the role of a runner, he no longer gets the protection as if he was in the pocket. Don't blame the Cats for thinking it could have been flagged but it wasn't as if he had given himself up on the play like Bridgewater Sunday.
