Regular season Champions NAU is next, after a very dissappointing loss to PSU. PSU hot at the right time of the year. Griz need a win to get another jump start into the tournament. So, Griz - NAU game on monday means a lot more than what it says on paper.

Great come back but fell short. Like the fact the Griz never gave up.

But, like always, have to move on and look ahead to NAU. Hopefully NAU will still lose today and monday. Never looks good to back into the title in my opinion.

Need to beat NAU for moment for the trip to Flagstaff. Gotta believe the Griz can win 3 in a row, at least. But, it will be tough. Griz are only 3 - 4 on the road in conference.

These seniors really deserve Griz fan's thanks and praise. Not only are they terrific players, but hey've battled through 3 different coaches, and have now re-established the Grizzly Tradition. Let's let 'em know we appreciate it. And them.

Might as well add some stats for the PSU game.

Griz shot 50% from the field (32 - 64), 50% from the 3pt line (13 - 26), and 68.2% from the freethrow line (15 - 22).

With a line like that, I would have suspected a Griz win.

PSU shot 45.2% from the field (28 - 62), 47.4% from the 3 pt line (9 - 19), and 77.8% from the freethrow line (28 - 36).

PSU won it from the freethrow line. Still, if Griz could just have shot better from the line, Griz win it. Heck, if Griz could have managed their season average at FT line (.719), Griz win.

Another big reason for loss, Griz were outrebounded by PSU 39 - 33.

Griz had 21 turnovers, Vikings 20 turnovers. Definitely more turnovers that I like to see Griz commit.

Griz were lead in scoring by Criswell and Matthews with 19 points each. Strait scored 18 points, and Stuart Mayes scored 13 points. Mayes appeared to have played a good game.

This is the night to set a new arena attendance record. In recent history, it's tough to name two more deserving athletes.

On one hand, we have the undersized Montana Kid who works his butt off. Then there is the Washington native who seems to do everything the right way.

They are a perfect blend of in-state and outta-state talent, that will bring Montana Basketball to it's rightful spot.

If you support Griz athletics in any way, you should go out of your way. These two gentlemen deserve the utmost respect and admiration for their contributions toward the renewal of Griz basketball excellance.

See Ya Monday!

You are forgetting something. There are 3 senior players on the team. Not 2.

Criswell and Matthews, as the two players I know you were referring to.

But, the third and forgotten player will be suiting up this monday and will participate in warmups (or at least shoot the ball) with the Griz. This player hasn't played all year due to an ACL injury in early fall last year, and has just started jogging 2 weeks ago. This player may have made a difference to placing first or second. One weakness I thought the Griz had was inside defense, and the player you forgot would most definitely helped in this area.

That player you forgot is:

John Seyfert.

If we dispatch the Jacks with a 25 point loss, I think they would be too demoralized to compete at all in the tourney.

Remember: It happened when PSU came to Missoula last year and they weren't even competitive with WSU in the semifinal.

Oh, and I agree about all THREE seniors...When you start chanting their names late in the game don't forget Seyfert.

Tell your wife that a root canal still has to be less painful than if she were a bobcat. :thumb:

I hear you grizbacker. I just hope we can get 6 or 7 thousands fans tomorrow night. The seniors deserve our support. Last two home games I thought the crowd was bad. Guess everyones not sold on Griz basketball yet.

Compared to last season I will take it though. It is headed in the right direction and will lead the BSC in attendace easily, which the Griz men haven't done for a while. :thumb:

Hopefully people will show up in force. Are they televising it in Missoula or blacking it out?

channel 67 on Bresnan Digital Cable. But, I wish they did block it out.

Any way you cut it Larry has done a great job. I he stays at Montana Griz will be knocking at the door within a few years-
he also deserves support from the fans.I am sure that every
year he will get offers. The best way to keep him is to have
good attendance.
