Oh no, a positive post!

"Long-time mainstays who appeared to be leaders are gone." You mean our five all-senior offensive linemen.? I share the optimism here and my wife will attest as to how loud I scream at the TV for the GRIZ to win, but until I see D-1 caliber performance from Hauck's team, I am now a skeptic.

I watched from the first row above the team while the Griz WALKED into the Dome, I guess trying to look confident...they did the same thing against the cats and got their but kicked there too! It's a sure sign of overconfidence, arrogance, or lack of preparation. It set the tone for the beatdown. Whoever is responsible for this needs to be released. If you don't bring excitement about playing at the beginning you don't bring the will to win! It also showed up on the sidelines the whole game with the whole team not fired up all game! Just spectators! Not the usual look for the team! Hopefully the walk in is a thing of the past!

Well… it was a positive thread for 10ish posts.

I appreciate your fanatacism. I’ll always root for the Griz and the players and though last week was a turning point for myself and a lot of the fan base in regards to the current iteration/staff, I wouldn’t cut off the nose to spite the face in this situation. A lot of fans want us to lose out to force a change that they don’t believe will happen otherwise, even if that could have an effect that they don’t expect. A change doesn’t always mean it will be for the better, especially if it’s an ugly change.

As far as this game, I’m looking forward to see if Gradney can continue his special run of turnovers like Ford did a couple years ago. I’ll enjoy watching Gubner do his work in the trenches as well as Forbes on the other side of the ball. I’m hoping Hill has a big game and that we see a return of Eli Gilman. I’m also hoping for Junior to find a way to have an impact on the game in whatever way he can. There’s plenty of reasons to love this team.

The team needs to play and execute better, and eliminate dumb mistakes. The o-line needs to play much better and up to its potential. They are completely capable of playing well. Taking NAU lightly was unfortunate and costly. I think the team will play much better and beat on Idaho St. But if not, the season will probably slip away.

I wonder if Bobby’s decision not to take the contract extension indicates he’s thinking of moving on.

Then the quitters showed up.

I got two sheepskins to say I 'm a Griz fan, and a bunch of Tee-shirts, too!

Not liking what I see on the field doesn't make me a 'quitter.' A disappointed, pissed off fan? Yes! Guilty! That game was a total CF. Coaches did NOT have this team ready. IF they are worth a sh*t, coaches and players, they should stomp ISU, just like they SHOULD HAVE stomped NAU. We'll know one way or another in about 44 hrs.

If it is time for a change, it would be best for all involved if he chose to do it on his own accord and not have it be an ugly affair. He could preserve what he has accomplished here and not have it marred. Though a lot of what has come from this board/fan base this week is due to consistent frustrations from the last couple seasons, and Bobby has fallen short of the bar that he set for himself and this team when he returned, there has been successes in his second tenure. Frustration shouldn’t be enough to overshadow some of those. Though, barring a national championship it is or was never going to be enough. At the same time, there has been failures in this second tenure that shouldn’t be overlooked or downplayed either.

It’s interesting to hear you say that. Considering your insider status, that comment makes me go “hmmm…” Is that something you think or are we throwing isht against a wall to see what sticks?

As for other comments, it’s easy to get mixed up by all the negativity on this board. Not a single Griz fan, pedestrian or not, wants the Griz to fail. Anyone who does is not a fan. Everyone wants the Griz to succeed, thrive, and get those championships. Everyone says it’s the goal. It’s just hard to watch the team going backwards. People bitch, moan, and pontificate because they care. Posters like you, me, Soldier, AZ, Brint, Peyton, Kem, CDA, and so many more. Let’s not forget.

When they don't care, they end up like the original ISU site, which totally died a couple years ago. Prime seats at Holt are $15, no tithing. Not sure if kids are free, but there's lots of them, and STILL can't get a good crowd, even for Weber. ISU football is like that fan board, dead but not buried.

You aren’t judging him objectively or fairly. Only 4 FCS teams have better averages for post-season poll rankings. While not where everyone wants to be, he hasn’t failed at all. Except not beating Cats enough. 10 win seasons are not failures. Nor are no. 6 rankings.

Many posters want Hauck and the Griz to fail. Why do you think he didn’t want to sign the contract extension? I don’t know, but I wonder. I haven’t see or talked to Jim since I left for the rugby World Cup about a month ago. UM needs Hauck’s ability to fundraise, as I’m told money is tight. He has and has had other good opportunities.

I don't have a crystal ball so I can't tell you guys what happens this season, my belief is that they turn this around starting Saturday.
There's one thing this fan refuses to do - give up on the Griz.

Forgive me, but you talk like a guy who is trying to convince himself this is true rather than someone who actually believes it.

Life isn’t fair hoops. I am only judging Bobby by what he set forth as his expectation upon his return and his yearly goal for this team. I would say I’m being much more objective than you. As I pointed out he has had successes and failures that people want to overlook. His second tenure hasn’t been mediocre as some would want us to think, just as it hasn’t been as wildly successful as
others want us to believe.

10 win seasons are successful. Two of them in his 4 seasons so far after the Stitt era is refreshing. 8 win seasons with three game losing streaks, and a blowout to your only rival when you’re ranked in the top 2 pre season and after week five is a failure.

A win against an FBS ranked team on the road is a huge success. However, consistently losing big games on the road is a failure, especially with several blowouts in that time. Winning playoff games every year is a success. Not advancing further into the playoffs when the goal is to be dominant is not.

There were several close calls that could have changed those facts, such as 2018 at home against the cats, 2019
Weber in the quarters, 2021 Sac State at home, 2021 EWU on the road, 2022 Idaho at home and 2022 Sac State on the road. As they say close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

We’ve been unable to be consistently ranked high enough going into the playoffs to earn multiple home playoff games which was a key to playoff success in the early 2000’s.

We have minimized off the field issues, elevated our success in the classroom and off the field which should be seen as a huge success. Kids are graduating and becoming men. 1/4 of Bobby’s goals for this team.

On the other hand we have not won a single Big Sky title or even a quarterfinal playoff game in that time to even get close to a goal of winning a national title. We are 1-3 against the cats. Those are 3/4 of Bobby’s goals every year for this team.
