I can not bet money plain and simple..Can't do it regardless of the cause. We all have demons and betting money would break a sacred vow.

Don’t look at it like betting money. It’s still the same bet. Except charity gets $100. Win win.

Just to brighten my spirits, can you tell me the story? Trolling 3.1mph and got a release off the planer board for some top water action, fought for 20 minutes before netting it next to the kicker motor? Was it mid-lake, or up near the green mountains, or down around Bayview?
Please, I need this.

Just out of Garfield Bay - Mid Lake at about 2.5 /MPH Outside left planer on top 300ft back and about 55 out screamed out drag on aa run, only had the lines in for about 30 minutes. Then kind of came towards us then another run and went airborne twice. Seeing a fish that big break your heart jumps in your throat. Got it to the boat then took another big run and the fight was on all over again. Slipped into the net the second time getting up to the boat then the fly popped out. We were all kind of stunned for a moment as the pig hit the deck then the excitement came then the shakes as the adrenaline started to wear off. Can't say how long the fight really was as I didn't time it but it felt like hours even though it was maybe 20-25 minutes.

So, no casting a line out with a Bobber on it?

No. LPO is like fishing the ocean. It is deep, over a thousand feet in some locations, the Rainbows are pelagic in the lake and chase schools of Kokanee salmon that they feed on. They are aggressive this time of year and feed like crazy. You troll lures and trolling flies at 2.5 to 3.1 MPH from the surface down to as deep as 110 feet. Most of the fish are up top but a few Kams, as we call them, come out deep water and there are macs down that deep. There is no limit to the number of lines on LPO so we use planer boards and clips to spread lines out up to 75 feet to either side and 150 to 300 feet back as the fish are very boat shy. The board carries the lure out out to 75 feet to either side hooked to a clip on a cable is your lines. Then on our boat we have two lines on downriggers as well down deep. We ran a total of 8 lines today but somedays I have spread as many as 12 out. I have caught them jigging spoons though a few times when I found schools, particularly the macs and Bull Trout. LPO is atrue trophy fishery, you don't catch a lot of fish but when you do they are usually worth it. But enough about this this is a football board.

That was a joke, but that's all I knew as a kid is one line with a bobber for Trout. As an Adult, all I know is basic one line trolling for Salmon at the River mouths in the Puget Sound or just sitting there in the open. The best luck was at the mouth though, as they can't see the boat because they are kicking up dirt.

LOL went right over my head. Few too many, too much celebrating.

Damn, man! Congrats again. It was either that derby or the Thanksgiving one where I miss-netted a giant laker hooked on a plug down about 170. Dad fought it for about 20 minutes, and I just whiffed and threw the hook. Fish floated there unhooked and stunned and I went to jump in after it like an idiot. Pops held me back, thank goodness. Damaged the old man’s outboard cover with the net in frustration. Awesome to hear about your catch and how the kams are growing again after the lean years we had out there. Nice work, pard.

I am not a liberal so there is only one way to look at it. $100 is money regardless if charity or not. Funny how none of you cat fans will take the bet I laid out. I guess you love posting over here and have no confidence in the up coming games....simple as that. Kind of funny really.

we win the next 3 games...this game was a fluke..

I gotta give you credit, man. You are most definitely a “glass half full” kind of guy. We play like THAT again and we LOSE the last three games.
