That is a long ass trip for Nova. And we owe them
Some payback. Remember Szczur? He not only kicked our butts, but he has a really hard name to spell.

.seczur? ....fourth line on eye exam chart

Interestingly, at :20 of this vid, they show a white board listing priorities in selections (I'm unsure if they are in order of importance). Might be worth pinning/bookmarking for future reference (although committee changes every year).

Comparative Data:
-Overall Record
-Record vs. DI Opponents
-Record vs. Opponents from AQ Conferences
-Record vs. FBS Opponents
-Head-to-head Record
-Common Opponents Record
-FCS Coaches' Poll
-NCAA SRS
-Input from R.A.C.'s (Regional Advisory Committee, I assume?)

Bylaw 31:
1. (illegible...maybe "Won-Loss Record")
2. Strength of Schedule
3. Eligibility/Availability of Student Athletes

I had the chance to heckle him at a spring training game in Phoenix a few years back when he was with the Cubs. We were sitting right by the on deck circle and I started in with the Griz Nation wont forgive or forget. Matt turned and laughed, and went up to the plate and promptly stroked a double to left. That guy could legit play two sports at a high level.

Eh I’d take that 6th seed and JMU any day over #5 Kittens at NDSU that is gonna pound that kitten
I'm not sure. I think MSU have a good chance against NDSU, that's as good and confusing a rushing attack as I've ever seen and it was without Anderson. The Bison may be more disciplined on D than we were but their O is no better than ours and we couldn't do squat.

You’re forgetting that NDSU actually has a line that could compete against the cats

Both MSU and Montana have a fair playoff bracket. Nobody should be bitching. Not necessarily any easy games. Several possible tough ones ahead but everything is winnable.

Play like we did yesterday and Montana is one and done, while Cats are going to the championship. Play like we did one week ago and MSU may be one and done as we are Frisco bound. Personally I hope all four Big Sky teams continue to advance as far as possible. Go Griz!

No I'm not.

And I don't know if you mean O-line or D-line, the Cats have incredible mobility on their O-line and great discipline on their D-line. While they may not be as deep as the Bison the O line, they are more talented on the D side.

I like this matchup for the Griz. Possible southern team in Missoula in December. Also looking at Weber’s potential matchups. Those teams actually have a good matchup against Weber. 3 brawlers there.

I don't know why people keep mentioning a Southern team being up here in December as a factor in UM's favor. Worked out pretty well for Coastal Carolina and Wofford as I recall.

Good to be back. Bobby got this turned around in year 2.

Last time seeded was 2013 at #8

last time higher than 6 was 2011 #4

Exactly right.

Regardless of the disaster that happened yesterday, this team finished the regular season 9-3 against a pretty tough schedule in what most thought would be a 7 or possibly 8 win year if things went well.

The line play, which everyone knew was going to be an issue coming in, improved dramatically from last year, but still has a ways to go as evidenced by the beating we took in the trenches yesterday. It will happen, if they hit the weight room and show as much improvement next year as they did this we could be looking good at this time next year. I think it's trending the right way, hopefully quicker than not.

But let's look at the now...

...we haven't had a first round bye in 6 years, we do now
...we haven't had a legitimate shot to make the quarters for a while, we do this year
...2 weeks off should allow us to get a little more healthy, it was evident Sneed was playing at a fraction of his normal self and we need him to be healthier to move this team...like it or not we may need to outscore teams to win the way our defense has looked at times. 20% Sneed is not enough to do that, 70% Sneed...maybe.

I understand the angst and hand-wringing after yesterday, I felt like I was gut-punched the rest of the day, but today the clouds have cleared a bit and I'm trying to focus on what we've done and what could still be, we're still in this fucking deal and really we have a pretty respectable draw in the playoffs.

Game on. Go Griz.

I’d rather play either Nova or Jamoo instead of SAC at home and NDSU in Fargo. Not to mention maybe MSU in Bozo again. I think we would play either of them very close in a second time but not sure we squeak by. Either way, you gotta beat the best to advance. What about Weebs at Ogden? That’s gonna be tough too.

All those teams are on the other side, the Griz will only meet them in the Championship. Now, THAT would be the ultimate game against State.

Right. I was just replying to the earlier post about not wanting to face ‘Nova or JaMoo. I think we have a killer seed. AND, SELA outbid ‘Nova so Nova, the presumed favorite, is traveling all the way to Louisiana and should they win, then all the way to Missoula. That’s about 4000 miles of travel in a week. Gotta take a toll.

That’s two in how many playoff years? Most of the southern teams I recall got smoked by 30 or more. I’ll take a southern team all day at this time of year.

Agreed. Like anything in sports, there are no guarantees. But to suggest it isn’t an advantage to have a warm weather team come to WGriz in December is just silly.

Ok. I'll take either with the breakdown you mention, but would prefer those Crawfishers. Probably never seen snow, and I'm hoping we have a lot happening then.

I mean two times out of however many is a good percentage I guess.

Any home game in the playoffs is an advantage! If the Griz play like they’re capable of, they can go far in the playoffs! The week off to get healthy and the cold weather will totally favor the Griz-especially against SELA! To be honest, I think they match up better against one of those two teams than Wofford or Kennesaw! That Cal Poly option offense always gives us fits! I don’t envy Weber having to practice for that! Go Griz!
