When its a program like Montana you don't go with unknown quantities. You go with what will elevate the program. Hauck or Pease could do that or maintain the level we are already at. No question about it. Instead we go with a toss up.. Is this a good hire? No. Kent seriously shot himself in the foot with this one and lost all credibility. MD then Bob Stitt.. KH couldn't hire a good football coach if he wanted to. All bout dice rolling and poor decisions. Griz remain mediocre.

It'd be better than going to the shitter. Which could happen. Who knows yet? We will find out in 3-4 years what he can do. Hope he proves me wrong but I have the feeling griz fans will be calling for his head after the first 2 years.

I'm in support of Stitt and JCU27 you can take your season ticket and shove it up your rectal data base! The same location where you are pulling your "football knowledge".

As a long time GRIZ fan and eGriz follower I couldn't think of a better time for my first post with the hiring of a new HC!! Personally I hoped to see Hauck back at the reigns, 1) because he's a proven winner with a knack for special teams magic which we clearly lacked this year. And 2) because Stitts resume really wasn't all that impressive to me!! Zero national championships with zero national championship appearances at the DII level!?!? At least when Glen came up, he was a proven winner there!! Anyways that being said and Stitt being the guy I hope him the best and hope he proves me and others in GRIZ nation wrong!! I also hope that since Hauck wasn't the guy that we don't end up seeing him on the opposite sidelines somewhere down the road!!

Who knows if Hauck could maintain and exceed where he left off but he was the safe bet. Pease is an unknown as a head coach but the ascension to HC isn't unimaginable. Stitt has been a HC but at a much lower level. Stitt's selection seems to be the biggest stretch of the three. Has been done spectacularly well and equally poorly at other programs. Haslem will receive the credit either way. As I see it, Haslem went all in with the hire. If it works then he will be the genius, if not, then the biggest goat in the State. Go Griz!

So you are saying that his coaching experience with recruiting, budget, etc., is on par? Seems a little naive. Big jumps in competition in all phases. Not predicting success or failure.
