OFFICIAL GAME THREAD- GRIZ vs. App St

What happened to our receivers?

I have to give them a little credit on some of the under throws they were behind the CB and had to come back. But they couldn't seem to get open on those last drives.

I'm jealous of your loss, because it was honorable. The cats got the win, but all I feel is sick. They are gonna have troubles this year ...in mass amounts. The griz, on he other hand, will be awesome this year, from everything i saw. You have so much more to be happy about with your loss than cat fans do with their win. Nice job! Great game.

The freshman quarterback looked like a freshman at times tonight. When he had to pass downfield, we had difficulties. I like the kid, but there are definitley some limitations in his game. Some of it can be solved with experience. Some of it may not.
I will sit here and bite my tongue... and call my Grandmother, who might have a better arm. Shiny Bobble definitely is a JJ clone - with probably more quicks and escapability, but no drive on his passes with his sidearm delivery. But as our new motto at WaGriz is - Live by the sword... die by the sword... out of the playoffs in the quarters or semi's every year.

for one of the firsts time in the last 10 years or so, the other team's crowd played a role in the game. the last game the crowd seemed to influence was at idaho state, with ochs as the griz qb.

Making the playoffs sounds good. I like that.

that missed extra point deflated the team, without a doubt. you could see it on their faces - it created a sense of desperation, instead of "let's tie it up".

Ok... A lota' pissy whiners here. We lost by a field goal (if we took knee and not run)... We have a QB that played HS last November and First Griz experience was w/ UNI game! We lost, but not by what everyone said by! I disagree TMac is the real deal and with a few more Games and practices... Long Bombs will connect; If the WR open themselves up. W/ Nguyen, Moore, and Tmac, unstoppable!!! F U haters Griz all the way!!!

Gotta agree about some of McKinney's throws.

A ball placed about 10 yards farther would have hit all of those receivers in stride. Most of them weren't really huge passes, though. He just left them too soft.

Every kick he has done is pulled to the right....better work on it.

You said it. At first, I thought he'd missed the previous PAT.

To lose by a TD when we turn the ball over 4 times. That's not bad. Losing sucks, but App St. was the better team in the second half and their is no shame losing to them in their own house. Great game, Mountaineers. Hope we get a rematch come playoff time!

The two of you don't know what you're talking about. McKinney has a very nice and fairly strong arm.

Agreed. I feel like McKinney's short throws weren't the lack of arm strength, just more or less him not being comfortable leading his receivers. Some of those passes weren't even 35 yards. I think his problems in camp leading receivers too much manifested themselves here with his sort of timidness airing it out.
