Agreed. Bad recruiting, or development, but we just don't have the athletes we need on defense.

We lost a lot with the linebacking core. Gunner was a beast requiring double teams which helped the linebackers. That said this display is mind boggling. So good question did we miss on recruiting, transfers or is this just poor coaching/development?

So, you remember Dornblaser and Arbor day kegger. Those were the days. Course, I don't remember winning much back then but it was fun as hell.

When you have bad teams every year for many many years, you get used to losing and it doesn't sting as much. After the sustained level of success that Montana has had for the last 30 years, losing in this manner is simply unacceptable. There's just no way for it to be fun. Unless I take up drinking but I've been told that that It doesn't actually help.

Not a good analogy. Cops aren't expected to argue the fine points of The Constitution. If one ruined your day, that's on YOU.

Player wise, DBs are the biggest issue. Second biggest is the defensive line.

The biggest issue with all of the defense, is the coaching. The play calling is abysmal.. giving up 3rd down conversions is fucking mind blowing.

That secondary is baaaaaaaaaad. Missed tackles, blown coverage, lack of effort, getting burned. They look slow and cumbersome. Offense was great, fun to watch.

I remember both Dornblaser fields. We had some mediocre teams back then until we hired Swarthout
