OFFICIAL: Drake Game Day Thread

Cole Sain was put in at RG after Skylar Martin struggled a bit after he was put in for Meyer. He held up a bit better inside.I think Sain starts next week depending on Meyer’s health (Meyer was in a sling after the game). Hoping Curran’s injury isn’t too serious.

He was still in pads singing after the game. I hope that means good things...

41-16 Griz!

Where are the smack talking Cat fans?

This is still ugly. Against a decent team, the Griz are screwed. Next week ought to be very interesting...

Don’t think some people are giving Drake enough credit?

Drake should have been the ones the Griz could run on. That concerns me.

I just don’t think we’ll have much of a run game this year. Maybe Calhoun helps there if they give him some reps but the problem is squarely on the OL and I think it’s something that won’t be fixed this year. We need these young OL to develop more physically.

Is Curran injured? I didn’t see him in the game after his false start, figured that was why.

TV said he went to the locker room for some type of injury but I don't know when or how it happened.

we moved two very good linebackers to full backs....yet on short yardage we still have not run a double tight end full back lead to my recollection.....the only reason i can think of is the o/l can't get any push at all to make the bubble for the f/b and half back to work with....the o/l needs to step it up imo...i liked that fact that Beaver got a foul, shows at lest some attitude....

As I recall the Bobby of the past didn't like to show some plays early unless it was absolutely necessary. I doubt much has changed.

Agreed with the O-Line assessment. No push, pocket was collapsing around Sneed all day. I don't know anything about Eastwood, but not impressed with him so far. I'm thinking that has more to do with the O-Line play then RB play. I love watching the Griz defense, though. JLM is a stud. Not sure how to development more pop in the O-line on the fly, though.

I feel like the more the young guys play the more experienced they will become.

By definition that's guaranteed, but not sure this group (starters) being more experienced is enough.

To me, game experience is like a penicillin shot after a trip to Thailand. It might not help but it can't hurt and either way you are probably #$cked.
