Official Complain about the Win Thread

I'm not here to complain about the Griz. I wanted them to win and I'm glad they pulled it out. I just would like to see them do a few things differently but these aren't complaints. Our most explosive and best player on offense is Junior. We need to find a way to get him touches. This kid needs to touch the ball at least 10 times a game. The next thing I wish would happen is they allow players who are on a hot streak to keep them in and not rotate them. Eli Gillman rushes for an 85 yard score and the very next series you put in someone else. The kid is riding high and is feeling the zone, ride that wave for at least one more series and then go back to your normal rotation. Lastly our corners should stop trying to play receivers 2 yards off. Our corners are slow and often get beat deep. Play these guys off and keep everything in front of you. Give up the short passes and protect the deep, big play balls. Bend but don't break. The defense came up big when they needed to and our offense got the job done. Of course we have things we can work on, but these kids went on the road and won a big game and hopefully it will take them to next week where they can pull out another win. Go GRIZ!!!!!!

Our offensive line is still horrible. Probably the worst in the big sky if not the country.

Our 3-3-5 is still a pointless defense. Zero pressure and wasting linebackers blitzing.

Team still has no identity other than we have an athletic QB who makes plays when chaos ensues. Not much of a gameplan there

Now we are splitting hairs. In my mind, ignoring the obvious positives and focusing solely on the negatives in a win, is complaining about the win.

If you want me to say the Griz didn’t deserve it or something, you’re off your rocker.

How's your sense of humor? I was just teasing you.

Hahaha! Sarcasm is hard to read on a message board!

I know we had 2 receivers nearly both have a 100-yard receiving game with 3 TDs between them, but we should've thrown it to the other guy.

Fontes, Bergen, Gillman, McDowell, and White are by far our best weapons on offense. Just get the ball to those guys all the time and big things will happen. All those guys played a huge part in why the griz won today. I still think the griz would do best running a triple option offense.

You're absolutely right about everything you said. Do you remember in the early 2000s when West Virginia used to run the triple option out of gun with a 2 RB set. They used to kill teams with that option offense. But with these rbs, and slots we have that we could option to, we would kill teams with that type of offense. Nice call.

Did Walker get beat deep?

First, great win.

Issues:

gotta take care of the football.

Penalties; the unsportsmanlikes are unacceptable. Holding on he OLine has wiped out huge plays all year.

No sacks. Pressure was better in the second half, but we’re got to get home.

No rushing lanes. OLine has to move someone.

Officiating. Omg. Every year I think the bsc will do something to make it a little better. Every year it’s markedly worse. It’s clear the league doesn’t give a shit. 17 cameras or not. Pathetic.

Gilman, Ostmo and McDowell averaged over 6 yards per carry.

Prior to his 84 yarder: Gilman was 6 carries for 4 yards. Ostmo averaged 3.7. X was 5 carries for 8 yards. The run game was not good Hoops.

Here’s my complaint: fucking ESPN+ doesn’t work in Mexico. So I wasn’t able to watch the game at all.

Good to know. I'll be out of the country in December, so if by some miracle we're still playing in late December/January, I won't be able to watch.

I will bear that burden for you all, though. ;)

Gilman, Ostmo and McDowell averaged over 6 yards per carry. McDowell was sacked twice. He had enough time to complete over 60% of his passes. I believe his passing efficiency rating was high. That indicates that the o-line had a fairly good game.

Even Griz hater Sam Herder tweeted about how improved the Griz o-line was.

If that’s good o line play I don’t know what to say. He was pressured on every pass and had to make multiple if not all of his passes off platform.

It's a crew we get at home to get homered!

It was later in the game that the run game got good. Hauck said that too. Look at the yardage and averages later in the game. The o- line opened some large holes. You want took look at only part of the game when the run game wasn’t there. I am looking at the whole game. I assume the Griz wore down Davis. That is the goal.
