Tomorrow I am canceling a few things at work and I am going to spend all day getting rid of those posters on campus.

Somebody needs to take a stand and get rid of thug ball once and for all. It would be nice to do away with thug ball in grade schools and middle schools and weed out an entire generation of that sport.
curious, where does this thug ball mantra come from?

It must come from somewhere, cause I'm not smart enough to come up with something like that myself.

The rest of you can STFU
For it to be "thugh ball" you have to have thugs on your time. we have none.

So Tinks just called me and asked if there is anything extra he can do to help us get more kids to show up...? seriously any ideas.

I think the athletic department needs to put up some signs or something around campus or in the paper tomorrow and friday. I haven't seen anything on campus besides your guys' signs.

agreed. we need some kind of special approval. some signs in the oval would be good. not really something tinkle himself can do but maybe something the administration could swing. we won't nail them to trees or tape them on doors but maybe some sandwich signs or banners.

That would be a great idea, and to mention the pizza and t-shirts to the early birds would help too. College students love free stuff and some will show up just for that reason and maybe they will become a regular to the games because of it.

fine no trees. but yeah def mentions of the free stuff
i dunno. just let people know about the game. when you tout stuff like free pizza it sounds like you're begging and it makes it all look amateur. shirts maybe, but don't mention pizza. that's like "hey, math study club after school today...and there's free pizza!" the pizza is more of an added bonus when people get there.

plus it'll clutter up whatever promotion you're putting out there.

Suggestion that is old school but effective. One of my old coaching acquaintences did it at the JC level.

Have Tinkle, O'day, and/or players show up about 5:00 and give some sort of quick talk as to the purpose behind this and their expectations of the students. It sounds stupid, but it worked well for my friend. It was the loudest game in a decade, and led to an upset. The next few years were absolutely nuts at the home games.

Maybe. I'm not sure a lot of people would be there at 5, otherwise Tinks would definitely be down. I could see Jim taking this type of thing on around 6:30. Just getting on the mike and letting everyone know how important this is.

For AG2: Last time I checked, nobody that was a member on the Griz or Bobcat Basketball team has killed anybody. You call it thug ball but you should venture down into the Football locker room before and after practice where rap music monopolizes the sound system. The football team also has a good amount of Montana white-boys who are definitely not from the hood walking around with their pants around their knees and blasting booming bass from their car sterios. Jordan Hasquet drives around in a old Ford pick-up; that's not very "hood." I'm not saying that none of the kids on the hoops team listen to rap, however you do have Andrew Strait who is quite the folk guitarist, Matt Martin, Jack McGillis, and Jordan Hasquet, who I know would much rather listen to Coldplay than Jay-Z.

The Football team is much more "thugged" out. And that's not even the kids who are from urban areas.

Get a grip. The football team isn't un-thuggish just because they wear tight pants on the field.
