Official Big stops scheduling FCS teams

Idaho's upcoming SEC games:

"Idaho will play an SEC school in each of the next four seasons and are being paid between $850,000 and $1 million per game according to the Idaho Statesman:

2012: LSU – $925,000
2013: Ole Miss – $850,000
2014: Florida – $975,000
2015: Auburn – $1,000,000"

The NCAA may place us in the "no conference at all bunch"........Or.........Time for a beer.

Don't necessarily think remaining FBS conferences are going to have make that decision, it may be made for them already. Strength of schedule is one of the main criteria the selection committee for the new "College Football Playoff" is being mandated to look at, so I suspect most FBS programs who think they have even a remote chance of positioning themselves for consideration will be reluctant to schedule FCS schools.

North Dakota State head football coach Craig Bohl said the Big Ten Conference’s decision to take Division I Football Championship Subdivision schools out of its scheduling model will not become a nationwide epidemic.

Bohl is one of 18 coaches on the Board of Trustees for the American Football Coaches Association that is meeting this week in Phoenix. Although he couldn’t divulge specifically which Division I Football Bowl Subdivision schools are in favor of retaining FCS schools on their schedule, he said there was a general consensus the Big Ten is alone on its mandate among the nation’s power conferences.

“What I’ve come to understand is the only FBS league to make that decision is the Big Ten,” Bohl said. “All the other leagues said they’re going to schedule like they’ve been scheduling.”

“I think they are the minority, not the majority,” Bohl said of the Big Ten.

Twice the going rate for a top FCS visitor.

Minnesota said after last beat down to NDSU "we will never schedule NDSU again". This along with wisconsin only winning by 1 over uni & cal poly have turned down NDSU 3 times and Iowa has NDSU on schedule in 2016 (which they will drop). That's the facts and it's sad to see them hold down NDSU and it's recruiting.

Here's what App St is getting for playing at MIchigan in '14.

"In 2014 Appalachian State will return to Michigan for the first time since upsetting the Wolverines in 2007. As an FBS school, Appalachian State will be paid $850,000 for the visit."
