Yes, injuries impact any team, any sport, at all levels. The better teams make the necessary strategic adjustments to best utilize their personnel. Why are the GRIZ an average team under Delaney? This staff struggles with adjustments, especially on offense. The injury reason or excuse would be much easier to respect, if this staff were trying different things with their current personnel options. They have done that, but very few and way too far in between. They struggle with adjustments and utilizing the whole field.
So what were the excuses or reasons prior to this season when we lost to winning playoff caliber teams? After all we were much healthier, we had an experienced OL. Last season this offense relied on deep passing way too often. That worked great the 1st half of the season, but when opponents took that away from us, the staff failed to consistently adjust to the defenses.
Sorry, this is the 3rd year of this staff, the growing pains should be well behind us. We should be seeing more consistent play on both sides of the ball. We should not be struggling with our kicking game still. This program under Delaney has not improved. Last year, we got some breaks. This year, we are not getting as many breaks.
Things have to change for the better. Either that is done by our coaches adjusting and find other ways to accomplish things, or start over with a new staff. This staff has 4 regular season games left to help or hurt their outcome. What will they do?
