I have been waiting to see if we will EVER see our best play makers in formations that FORCES the defense to make a mid-game adjustment...At this point I am beginning to think it will NEVER happen this season if at all!?!?
The reluctance to move Jones/Henderson/Roberts et al into different pairings & groupings by formation is choking offensive productivity!
Being an opposing Defensive Coordinator the week of a Griz game is almost like a week off. There are a couple startling facts that I have observed over the past 8 weeks that are really bothering me now.
EXCLUSIVELY lining up Jones/Henderson on the outside has completely killed their explosiveness. Think I am wrong...ask yourself why Beau Baldwin moves Kuppo all over the place. ANSWER: to get his best player the ball as frequently as frequently as possible! If you know where i line up every play you have half the battle won...right there!
ALL our routes appear to break at 7-9yds - IF I recognize this you better believe that every defensive coordinator in the BSC does too (because they actually get paid to do this)
When was the last time you saw misdirection with our offense? Other teams sure have figured it out vs the Griz defense. Opponents have used misdirection vs the Griz with great efficiency.
Last thing before I end this rant....SPECIAL TEAMS MATTER! Kick the freaking FGs when you "should" & get Henderson the extra touches he should be getting in the offense in the return game. I was a returner myself at one time & we miss out on opportunities to swing momentum by not have a game breaker back on returns.
No offense to Mr. Nguyen but he's not that guy. We have a former all america returner shitting on the bench during these opportunities. Practicality tells you to use that guy. We have DUDES but honestly they are being under-utilized within Stitts offense. He may never have talent like this again & to watch him under-use these guys is really hard to take!
Great coaches ADAPT what they do to the talent around them...they do not expect the talent to adjust to them...ask around for the answer if you dont believe that one either. Bottom Line: The Griz are way too predictable offensively!
