offense looking good wr/rb /qb/oline

The Griz offense seem to take what the defense give them. One of the analysts said "another 6 yard run through the air, that sometimes turns into 30".We just pluck away at the defense making them literally defend the entire field which gets them winded. The SUU LB said last week "they come from everywhere and they are hard to stop". I think the Griz will be lights out come playoff time and even meeting up with NDSU will be way different than last year.

Game still won in the trenches, so really depends on the improvement of the O-line throughout the year.

I think the offense is way ahead of last year. It appears to me the playbook has been opened up to a much greater extent, with more innovated plays.

....not sure....you can take more....from this game.....than....they did what they were supposed to.....

If there has been progress (and there may be), and that includes more consistency, I would attribute it to BG knowing the offense better and better, making more good play calls, recognizing more things, making better reads, and improving throws. Also, the other players know the offense a bit better. The o-line continues to improve. While losing last year's receivers was a big loss, the younger/newer guys have nice talent and athleticism, are hopefully making fewer mistakes, and are starting to catch more of the tougher balls. Most of them weren't earlier in the season. The depth of the backs is better this year. The offense has also been adjusted to some extent. One more thing. Regarding BG's overthrows, especially in the first half a couple games ago, Stitt says some of those are intentional overthrows by BG, i.e. getting rid of the ball because he was not comfortable with what he saw. BG is focusing more on avoiding bad throws and throws with larger risk of being intercepted.

This is how I kind of see it too. I do think the OL is getting more comfortable with the offense and with each other too. They are doing a much better job of taking care of their blocking assignments. Hopefully they can keep that up, because it really opens up the playbook when they can pass protect long enough to give Brady the comfort that he will have time to go through his progressions rather than knowing he will have to go at the first option or throw it away. I agree on the overthrows. Those out routes are the most vulnerable for interceptions and I'd much rather see him erring on the side of overthrowing that route than taking sauce off of it and risking a pick 6.

I like the way our offense is playing and they seem to get better each week.

I remain happy with our defense. New L backers, new guys in the backfield and more inovative style of play. Who would have thought with a new DC coming in we would be looking this good. By the latter portion of our season I look for a good team in all areas, we may stumble but we are looking very very good right now!

This offense is ahead of last year's offense. There is so much more consistency in moving the ball. Granted, the MVSU game is a hard game to measure, as a whole, but there are some signs.
(1) OL is steadily improving their pass protection. Run Blocking is a little more gradual.
(2) Brady is having more time to get through his progressions.
(3) Brady is making better throwing decisions. Now, he needs to work on better protecting the ball when there is heavy heat.
(4) With JLM's absence, Stitt is showing more faith and confidence in more WR's. I absolutely love how he is beginning to use other players in multiple WR positions, and having more players run a wider variety of routes.
(5) This team is not only improved in the RED ZONE, but appear to be one of the better GRIZ teams in the RED ZONE.

I hope to see our run game will continue to improve in the next weeks. We will absolutely need a good ground game when the weather plays a huge role in games. I feel it would be wise to continue taking care of business early and often. Developing Chalich and/or Phillips with the 1st team and most the playbook would be a nice luxury to have, incase Brady does get injured.

My only gripe would be Calhoun getting more carries, but when BG is ripping off completions the way he is then no need to force the running game until you need to. Love seeing this offense and all the young WR's coming together the way it has so far.
