for the first time in recent memory it is the defense of the griz a wonder about in terms of ability, not the offense. when was the last time the team's offense performed better than the defense? any opinions? '98?

i don't know that it is just the secondary - nau ran all over the griz in the second half of their game. when is the last time that happened, other than by a highly unusual (wofford) offense?

Zach Bauman runs all over everybody. Throw that game out and the Griz run D has been fantastic, and will continue to be.

We played even worse last year against Sac State. Over all this year the defense has been disappointing. I do recall a year in Hauck's time, our pass defense was one of the worse in the nation, but come season's end, they were pretty solid defending the pass.
