We haven't had O-lineman get looks at the NFL for awhile.

One whole year it's been. William Poehls (2014 grad) has been in camps/practice squads and just signed a futures contract.

Edited :thumb: Was thinking he was a few years ago, which is awhile to me. Interestingly, Poehls and Kistler were the last really big guys to play on our line.

That being said, nobody from this year's graduating class is getting a look, and probably nobody from NEXT year's class or the year after that....so it WILL be a while before we see another NFL contender on the O-line unless there's a transfer in.

You mean like this guy? Him and Stitt started following each other on Twitter. We've seen those turn into something before.

After the 11 (??) game three year career at Louisville he should be plenty rested up for the NFL.

Well there ya go! Sweet some beef for up front. Now, will they put him on the O line or D line? He was a 3 star coming out of HS with 7-8 FBS offers. I'll take it!

See above. SoldierGriz says it's a done deal. I like it. Rumor is he will play defensive line for us.

My belief that a dominant offensive line is the most crucial component to a high-powered offense. More important that the skill positions. It also requires a steeper developmental curve, so to that respect, I hope than fans are patient with this young talent coming up through the ranks. DOLA doesn't happen overnight.

I don't care what kind of offense you run, if you can't win at the LOS you wont win many games. Same goes for the DL. You HAVE to win the battle in the trenches!

In my opinion, you are going to see some vastly improved line play in large part due to Germer. Lurch was a good coach, but he had a high school mentality and had the majority of the line filled with talented, but nice guys. John Madden once said he would bring in his Oline and have them beat up tackling dummies because for the majority of their lives they were the big guys told to be careful with the smaller guys, don't hurt them etc.

If you know Germer, then you know how quietly intense he can be and how he will bring back the Oline that will legally beat up the guys across the line. He will recruit guys that are smart enough to know the offense and throughout the course of the game tear the head off the opponent and s&$t down their throats.

Agreed on Germer. We are lucky to have him back in Missoula. I'm excited to see how the OL improves next season under his tutelage.

It appears Stitt has made a strong effort in recruiting talent at the OL position. We can look forward to a much improved OL in the coming year.
