Nyugen's ST follies

He needs to be replaced on special teams. We are a liability with him returning kicks and punts. He fumbles, does not have break away speed, does not possess good hands. I just don't understand why the coaches use him for those sets. There has to be at least 10 other guys with better hands, better speed, or at least receivers with a longer stride that can get up to a faster speed that are more suited for that role. I heard today that we are 115th in the country in kickoff returns. That is pathetic. I am not sure who is special teams coach is but he should be on the chopping block.

Fumbling on special teams runs in the family.
Ha! I can see the headlines tomorrow, University of Montana researchers find genetic link to fumbling....

I don't like taking a shot at one of our own but man...

Poor guy must be nervous every return by now... But, yeah, I'm in the camp that would love to see Van return kicks.

the football looks really big in nguyen's fairly short arms. the coaches are obviously taking a calculated risk by having him back there. how many has he actually 'lost' this year? one or two?

In sooo many cases, guys from places like UM make the bigs (NFL) because of their Special Teams contributions. It would be good for Van's future prospects, assuming he has any, to have some showy returns on his "debut" video -- and I think he could do that, if given a chance.

I'd rather lobby for a Chris Parker - http://www.gogriz.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/chris_parker_850834.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Prior link says he 'scored two touchdowns via kickoff returns.' His recruiting bio says that he had 18 punt returns for a 19.2 avg and 2 TDs...5 kickoff returns for a 37.4 avg and another TD. < http://newstalkkgvo.com/new-grizzly-football-recruiting-class-introduced-wednesday-audio/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He's a 6' 0" 185 lbs. redshirt freshman CB. I think it's about time to try his services.

All of that knowledge at UM and the coaches still can't find the resources to see there is a Nguyen Gene. Tuff Harris where are you when we need ya... or Levander... or Mariani... or...

I will agree with maxim on this one,,,if the conference used replay, I think he would have had 2 or 3 fumbles today....that is unacceptable by any coaching staff in America at any level.
