Now will you STFU about cold and loud?

Why would you consider Griz fans bragging to CC fans about the cold and noise a "scare tactic"? Why would CC FANS be scared? They didn't have to play today. I never saw ONE poster on here bragging or trying to scare a Coastal Carolina player this week. Some people need to go back to basics and find the line between fans and teams. So many times on Egriz, posters seem to get the two way mixed up. THIS IS A FAN BOARD. It doesn't have S--T to do with what goes on on the field.

Griz fans are fairly knowledgeable, but alot of egriz posters are total idiots.

Okay, to the both of you:

I was explaining the futility of fans emphasizing how cold and loud the stadium would be, as if that trash talking was going to help the Griz win. Bottom line: CCU heard the whole week from all fronts (the media, people around town) how brutal the cold would be, and then they made it a priority to minimize the effects of the environment, which not every team new to WGS knows how to do. I didn't say anything about how the message board would impact the game, but I quoted that sentence about message boards to make a point of how criminally stupid it is to hype up how CCU was doomed and then have to eat crow afterwards.

I think this is a rather ridiculous line of post if you consider history. Typically the cold does affect southern teams and typically we have a larger and louder crowd and it does affect the visitor. Not yesterday, why as one other person suggested, the CCU coach is brilliant and had his team prepared and made great adjustments in the 2nd qtr.
I really feel the Griz had the better team, playing at home after a bye week in what should have been home team favoring conditions. That would suggest, we were not the better coached team. Yes I realize we got royally hosed by the refs, but with all the other things in our favor, we still should have won the game. Guess what we get another year of it.

Well, I guess I am just old school. Score a TD and hand the ball to the ref.

Shout and yell and cause the false start, take the five yards and smile.

Is that English enough for you?

Again, could you put this in English so we can understand what you are saying?

Why being a prick to this poster? Making as much sense as most, but he can spell

Asking a poster to explain his post is not being a prick. Why don't you explain the post, if you are so smart.

If you're a lawyer, why don't you pick and choose the words you want to hear and come to your own conclusion. Isn't that how lawyerin' works? :lol:

I'm not eating crow for anything today. First because I never predicted the Chants would lose because of the cold, and secondly because I still believe the Griz fans who dared to show up, along with the weather, created a hostile enviornment. I did my job yesterday as a fan, and the Chants handled it. I have no problem admitting it and giving them, especially Alex Ross and Moglia credit for it. But I don't feel like I need to eat any crow.

I liked how some posters laughed at CCU for putting on clinics for the players on dealing with cold temps that were based on human physiology and scientific fact. As it turned out, they were way better equipped than we were.

I was impressed with Coastal.

Every player had warm gear on.

Every player had coats on the sideline and used them.

None of their players tried to act like they were too tough for the cold like do many other southern teams we've seen.

Their coach deserves a lot of credit for preparing them.

I noticed a couple of times that when a player came off the field, there was another player with a coat waiting for him. Very systemized, very disciplined, and disciplined teams tend to win a lot of ball games. It almost looked like we were more affected by the cold.

Yep, we appeared to be more affected by the cold than CC. Have to wonder if their approach to staying warm on the sidelines made more of a difference than we know. Probably a key reason their QB could play without gloves (an obvious example).

Regardless if you’re in the sun or not its very cold when the official temp is below zero and you are just standing or sitting around. For many the body will get sluggish due to blood flows working more to keep vital organs working.

Apparently I sat in the wrong section. :shrug:

No, LTC, I get what you are saying. Obviously, yesterday's atmosphere was NOT what we pride ourselves in. But I thought the people that showed did what they could to get it there. I had already reconciled myself with the piss poor turnout, so I was actually surprised when as many people showed up as they did.

I think you were in my section. Section 105. Yeah you were in the wrong section. We stood pretty much the whole time. I appreciated your effort. Some pretty lame people in that section.

This is spot on in many different ways. It's time to drop this bullshit about tghe crowd winning games, the cold winning games, the sledgehammer, the brand or the flags that get run out of the tunnel winning games.
The Griz are becoming a bad parody of themselves. The team that beat the Griz Saturday is lucky to get 5,000 fans at a home game and doesn't have a tunnel, let alone a brand and a sledgehammer.

You're misinterpreting my words again. I'm saying, to anyone who hyped how ugly the weather would be and thought we would win just because of it, you're all looking like fools now. If you, as an individual, didn't get arrogant about it towards CCU players or fans, then you don't have to own up to what a bunch of other other people said. Anyway, that's the last of what I have to say on this thread, so if anyone wants to respond, they can PM me.

Yep, watching the CCU presser last week, I was impressed by how thoroughly Magoli understood the conditions & was preparing his team for them. By the time CCU got into WaGriz, they were prepared for it.

Don't know what/how the Griz prepared for it. Probably didn't, thinking this was business as usual on a 25 or 30 degree day. Underestimated the southerners & overestimated themselves.

Crap, so am I getting this right then?

Crowd = No effect
Cold = No Effect
D = No Effect

Also worth noting, if I remember right, every time we play a team with the kind of QB that CCU has, EWU, Sac St and others, we have a hard time stopping them.

Coaches = No Effect
