Not to point out the obvious, but...

We need some contingency plans here people!! If things don't go our way on this announcement we will need some fast actions! Everett, get our cache of pitchforks ready from the warehouse in Seattle. CDA, have our torches loaded in the back of a semi and ready for immediate distribution. Snap, we are going to need a reliable wheel man for this. Please contact Booby Dildo and have him on stand-by. Cotton Eyed Hoe, please have the plans to assault the Big Sky Conference Headquarters in Ogden distributed to the men.

Act smart men, don't dally! The shit's about to get real!

The post was funny enough but referencing Booby Dildo put this post over the top. Nice job Ursa. Great effort. As long as Booby brings the Dodge Power Wagon with the glass packs, this
will be epic.

John Friesz beat him in EVERY category and already is in the College football hall of fame. Nobody is taking anything away from DD. He just wasn't the best BSC athlete. Maybe when you are around a while, you'll realize how many great athletes the BSC has produced. Therer was life before 1995, and a lot has happened since.

First off, as was pointed out by numerous people here this list is about accomplishments of players in the Big Sky, not what they did after they were no longer in the Big Sky.

Second, what categories did Friesz beat DD in besides interceptions? DD is in the NCAA record books 20 times vs Friesz in there 11.

Here are DD's stats his JR and SR years (couldn't find sophomore stats yet) compared to Friesz's JR and SR years:

DD:
1994: 9 games, 229-336 (68.2%). 3,053yds 24tds, 6ints, 164.5 QB Rating.
1995: 11 games, 309-455 (69.4%). 4,176yds, 38tds, 9ints, 172.4 QB Rating.

Friesz:
1988: 10 games, 220-397 (55.4%), 2874yds, 18tds, 17ints, 287.4yds per game, 122.6 QB Rating
1989: 11 games, 260-425 (61.2%), 4041yds, 31TDs, 8INTs, 367.4yds per game, 161.4 QB Rating.

Now lets compare their career numbers.

DD:
813-1208 (67.3%), 11,080yds, 96tds, 26ints, 7.95%TD, 2.15%INT, 9.2yards per attempt, 166.27 rating.

Friesz:
791-1324 (59.7%), 10,592yds, 77tds, 39ints, 5.8%TD, 2.9%INT, 8.0yards per attempt. 140.2 rating.

Yep... Friesz sure did "beat him in EVERY category" as you put it...

From a pure talent level view for his skill set (ignore the stats), I'm not even confident DD was the best Griz qb of the 90s.
If you are the best at your job, you are the most talented. How fricken hard is this? This might sound like an oxy-moron but it seems like some of these trolls have to "learn how to be stupid." They can't be born this dumb, are they? They must go to some advanced education classes on how to be anxiously dumb?

No worries I don't think you're a troll or dumb. Would DD's stats be as good in Delaney's system? Would JJ's be better in Read's? Common sense that stats have no meaning. Some qbs have put up great stats yet are rarely mentioned as all-time greats. And vice versa....classic NFL example for the latter is Joe Flacco (last year after he won Super Bowl - amazing how many we're considering him an all time great)

Friesz was taller. :ugeek:

Sorry Ursa. I'm busy guarding the Yucatan this week.

Can you assign someone else pitch fork responsibility?

I don't give a shit about stats either. Throw them out and he's still the best.

So what the hell is your point? If your point is "don't judge a book by its cover" i will shut the hell up. But you seem to be doing the opposite of that by ignoring the stats and what DD did on the field (ie, his "talent"). Apparently, you would rather this list go by what he looks like on the outside, and as DD proved, that is the dumbest thing you could possibly do around him.

I remember the first time i met DD. I was in middle school and I honestly believed i could take him. As the saying goes, "Never underestimate the heart of a champion." That is why he belongs at the top of this list.

This is not a list of the "most athletic" players. If it were, it would be Damian Lilard and #2 would not even be close.

DD should be next head coach...start the foundation in order to make salaries available.

You have a point. lots of guys gripe about salaries but I haven't seen any jump forward to start a "foundation" as is common elswhere. I'm not even sure its doable...........

I know it's been pointed out before but DD is the heir apparent for the HC job with the Calgary Stampeders. It's probably not a whole lot more money that HC for the GRIZ would make but he likes the city, the family situation and the set up of the team. Would be great to see what he could do at WGS though.

I'm all over this, Ursa. Everyone on the team should have received complete schematics and architectural blueprints for Big Sky Conference HQ in Ogden. Sorry 'bout the large file size, but there are 18 subterranean levels to the place (in addition to the 5 stories above-ground!). These will be in y'all's pm's here on e-griz, as well as in your personal email inboxes (how I obtained that info is immaterial). Study up, and know that sh*t like the back of your hand. If we need to move, it's gonna be for real.
Another thing: EverettGriz is dead to me.

I fucked up. I tried to save time by pre-lighting them.

That's what you get for using the Crowley truck, for chrissakes!

This could not be more accurate, AWF! A quick Google search clearly shows that the Crowley Trucking Company has investment connections with a certain S.W. Montana wheat processing company and a small regional athletic clothing chain headquartered in the Northern Rockies.

This could not have turned out worse. Crowley's 2013 10-K on EDGAR shows significant holdings in a company called "Blue BobC.A.T. Universal Wheat Germ and Rascal Scooter Service of America" I've embarrassed myself, the Griz, and the entire Treasure State.

Jesus H. Christ. The level of incompetence, even outright buffoonery on display thus far from the Defend Dave Dickenson Strike Force (DDDSF) is f**king absurd! The last thing I need is more on my plate, but apparently I'm the only competent member of this little troupe, so here goes...

We're gonna need pitchforks. A big 'ol bunch of 'em. And not the cheap crap they sell at Harbor Freight. We're getting these from Murdoch's, or we're not getting them at all.
Thanks to CDA, we're gonna need another bunch of torches. Small diameter, green Douglas-fir will work nicely for the handles. A certain someone I know has recently come into possession of 2 very nice axes; he knows who he is, and I hope he knows what he needs to do.
We'll need cotton t-shirts (Goodwill or Salvation Army?), and plenty of lamp oil. This is on you, Snap. If you can find the kind with citronella added, so much the better.
As far as pikes go, I know a fellow in Bonner who runs a blacksmith shop. I've already placed the order (a baker's dozen should be fine, don't you think?), and will pick them up on our way to Ogden (it's on the way).
Obviously, everybody has taken the time to thoroughly study/memorize the schematics/blueprints that I sent out 2 days ago, right? RIGHT?
What am I forgetting...

I've just been informed by the DDDSF treasurer that citronella is not in this year's budget. Fucking bean counters!
