*NOT INJURED* Calhoun RB

argh! said:
i hope they either play him soon and often, or if they don't, decide to redshirt him soon, so he can rest his body for a year, and then hopefully graduate with his brother. along those lines, does anyone know if his missed games count as played games in the new redshirt rules? i would think not, but i've been known to be wrong. in fact, some, i.e. kem and cda, know everything i post is wrong, even if it isn't!

He plays the guys he thinks are the best at what he wants to do so I guess those guys are his favorites.

*NOT INJURED* Calhoun RB - Thank you for the clarification in your title. I am going to guess that we do see Calhoun vs SacState for the simple reason WE NEED HIM!

I would actually be surprised from what I have heard to see Calhoun ever take the field again. Hauck says he has been a nonfactor in practice up to now plus the disciplinary issue I would be surprised if he suits up again or at all this year.

Not saying Calhoun isn't a good pass catcher out of the backfield, but Eastwood and Lee do an exceptional job. Perhaps part of the reason?

Hauck also said a lot about Buss's injury and not playing this season....Just saying.

Lee yes, but Eastwood has dropped more than he caught out of the backfield

Huh. I don't have the stats on that, but it seems every time Eastwood is thrown a ball he gets it. Might just be my memory failing me.

from what I have heard he still isn't getting touches in practice. I think Eastwood is just as good RB as Calhoun personally
You really think Eastwood Is just as good as Calhoun watching his first two games as opposed to Calhoun last year. Given the proper chance Calhoun can and will be the spark the griz ground game needs. kids a special talent, needs to be on the field to show it.

That is simply not true. Eastwood has been phenomenal at catching the ball out of the backfield. I can only remember one drop and that was Lee last game. Eastwood has had to make some tough catches too as Sneed fires is 100 mph whether you’re 40 yards away or 3

Eastwood has 12 receptions in 3 games....that’s tied with Toure for 3rd most on team (behind JLM and Akem) and is ahead of Curran.

At least three in the NIU game. 3 in the Drake game and you are correct no drops against WIU so yeas I guess you are correct. I just was not that impressed from the NIU game I suppose. You are also correct they were tough catches to make. Wasn't dogging on Eastwood just don't think him being a decent pass catcher is why he is starting over Calhoun

Sorry man I call total BS on you saying he dropped 3 against UNI and another 3 against Drake. If that’s true put me in a home bc I have amnesia, CTE, dememtia, or Alzheimer’s

It’s a given that Hauck will field his best eleven on Offense, Defense, Special Teams, that is his MO.

If Calhoun is ready to go, and Hauck thinks he is his best, rest assured you will see Calhoun on Sat.

I'm sorry, but I'm not at all sure that Hauck always plays 'the best.' He has always tended to play favorites, and that is what I see happening with the Eastwood/Calhoun scenario. Kinda like the QB situation, Hauck plays 'his guys.' I would love to see him give Calhoun a chance, but I honestly think that may not happen.

You have your opinion and I have mine, however Hauck job is winning, don’t believe winning can be done with favorites in lieu of the better athlete.

Please, if you can point some example of playing favorites in lieu of the better athlete.

Didn’t Calhoun kinda tie Hauck’s hands with his extra Curriculum during the off season, those game suspension didn’t occur due to the prowess of his athletic ability, there are consequences for poor judgment.

I recall Eastwood dropping only 1 pass. Missed a couple other poorly thrown passes. Catching the ball is one of his strengths, in my view.

O-line should look better this week. Sirmon has found a home. O-line should improve each week. Good chance to be fairly good by end of season. This is all based on inside info.

Maybe (probably) it's just me, but I think Eastwood has looked pretty good thus far with which he has been given to work. Maybe Calhoun would have been better to date, but that's off the table now. I think we are sitting nicely with the two of them and Lee. I think Lee knows his stuff and can provide some game-breaking plays down the stretch. Kid looks like a bowling ball at times . . .
