Not Everyone Happy about Krysko Hiring

Career assistants just not the way to go

Michael Hunt

. . . and now Larry K., the former Buck with exactly zero NBA head-coaching experience.

There was no question Stotts had to go, but for the Bucks to make a change based on Krystkowiak's power-play leverage move with the University of Utah just looks bad.

I just have to comment on both of the above quotes.

First of all, every single NBA coach, past, present and future, at one time had "no NBA head-coaching experience." That means nothing in and of itself.

Second, what the hell is he talking about, "power-play leverage move?" Krysko's boss was about to get fired. He'd be an idiot not to start looking at his career options.

that is quite possibly the most interesting part of his column.....

"is mike hunt in here?"

Larry K did nothing under the table to get this job. He was a candidate for the Utah job, and he talked with them about it. What is wrong with that? Those of you who seem to have a problem with an individual who leverages his position to his benefit, or who seemingly is disloyal, need to understand that this is a business.

Terry Stotts was loyal to a fault to the Bucks, and what did it get him? No NBA team has a problem firing a head coach. So no coach should do anything other than look out for his own best interests, which is what Coach K did.

I am excited that a former player/great and coaching/great at UM is now in the NBA. I think he will do much better in the NBA than our other former coach, Montgomery. Larry's personality is more suited to the pro game than Monty. It is also a great position for Larry to take over the worst team in the league. He has no where to go but up. I am pulling for him, and expect him not to disappoint me.

Share in the excitement and show the gratitude for a former Grizzly great.

Let's assume that he did in fact "manipulate" and/or "leverage" the situation by talking to Utah. Is anybody on this board seriously outraged or even disappointed if he did? This is pro sports we're talking about. In that environment you either screw or you get screwed. I think the NBA sucks and I'm disppointed he didn't stick around Missoula for another years, but if he's hell-bent to affiliate himself with the NBA I certainly don't have a problem with him looking out for himself.
