I realize losing two games with 16 and 10 point leads in the second half is not good. But you gotta feel bad for our former coach Wayne Tinkle. The same W. tinkle who was the darling of the collegiate basketball world last year by not only winning the PAC 12 Championship but making it to the Elite 8.
Tonight the Bev’s had a halftime lead of 13 points only to lose to those pesky Cougars of WSU by 6 points. And the worst part...drum roll please....this was their 15th STRAIGHT LOSS. From the looks of the crowd on TV there couldn’t have been more than 1,000 people there unless they were hiding behind the cameraman/person.
Wayne was always a warm, friendly and cordial person to those who knew him. Just his stature alone made you look up to him. But I was never real fond of his brand of basketball scheme. Way to much one on one with everyone else waiting for someone to make a move. I know Wayne got a big extension after last years run but it’s always the small print that gets you in the end. I hope he gets back on track next year or we could be down two former Griz players PAC-12 coaches.
