I hope the Griz don't have the attitude that they can beat UNC with little effort (playing down to the opponent's preceived level). I think that's how NAU beat the Griz. Advice that they come out of the tunnel smoking, running the score up quickly should be heeded.

So you won't call out one kid because that would be bush league, but you'll anonymously smear all of them because you want to be respectful?

If it's so obvious said players shouldn't be on the team, then no one should call you out if you just say who they are, right?

You recruit legacy kids because they are legacy kids. They aren’t getting full rides. They are getting an opportunity to prove themselves because their parents did the exact same thing. And if you don’t give them the opportunity, it’ll look bad to future generations.

After reading a lot of the posts, I can't believe Simon didn't come to U of M. I remember watching his dad play in 95 and 96 and he was a beast. The whole LB core those years were probably the best I ever saw at Montana. Sirmon and Crebo together were amazing. Then our FS and SS in Sean Goicochea and Blaine McElmurry, together these 4 guys used to punish the opponents offense. That's too bad Sirmon wasn't playing for the Griz, but if I'm not mistaken, isn't his other son coming to Montana next year along with Goicochea son, and Travis Walkers son. That would make 6 total legacy kids on the team next year. I think this is really great for Montana. This could be a throwback to the great 90s teams of the past. I believe the 6 are Sirmon, Walker, Gurnsey, Goicochea, Buehler and Ah Yat. The future of GRIZ ball is looking bright!

We're 6-1, just beat the #3 team in FCS at their place, beat a ranked football team at their place the week before, and are ranked in the top 10 in FCS. I guess we'll see how the season goes...but WTF is wrong with the "state of Griz football right now"?

I watched that 4th quarter against Weber. Sirmon makes a lot of mistakes under pressure and threw, "pun intended", that game away for the Bears. I hope Cliff polishes up his throws as there were some wide-open guys that he missed against Idaho. the Griz can separate and put the pressure on Sirmon to handle Montana's defense.

Ok I looked up Keali'i Ah Yat and he was only recruited by Montana and N. Colorado, so according to your logic he definitely shouldn't have been recruited and doesn't deserve a full scholarship. Even though, he's already moved up to #2 on the depth chart as a true freshman. I guess because his dad is HOF, Brian Ah Yat, that guarantees him to be #2 without earning it. Hauck must be a moron for giving this kid a scholarship.

Talen Reynolds. Son of the legendary chase reynolds. Plays the same position as his dad and runs eerily similar as well. Pretty undersized right now but is a good prospect.

His dad was so undersized when he walked on from 8-man Drummond that he was a receiver, until pressed into duty as a RB. The rest is history.

Hopefully and would be nice to see some younger guys get playing time. But I'm thinking it might be another stressful close one.

I have a real problem in thinking that these QBs who make the circuit through FBS, can't make the grade there, then want to play here, will be the answer. Why would we want a QB who couldn't make the two-deep at a second tier FBS school? Yeah, we recruited Vidlak hard, and he decided to go FBS, failed there at two different stops, then decided to finally honor his broken commitment to us. Why anyone thought he would be the answer is a mystery to me. Same with Sirmon. To me, three strikes and you're out.

Some of those kids have no idea that they’ll be buried on the depth chart. They have the portal to transfer now, just like the coaches who leave the team’s behind for greener pastures. They need to do what’s best for them. Glad to see the student athletes have some power now, instead of just the institution. We’ve gained more than we’ve lost from the portal.

So we should never have recruited Mariani. Who was a scrawny 5’11” 160 kid from havre with no other D1 offers and was offered only a non preferred walk-on by us? How about reynolds? Some of those dudes turn into studs. I will always believe that chance Demaries should have played for either UM or MSU. He ended up being quite the RB for Carroll, and definitely could have played at this level. Sometimes guys just need an opportunity
