Northern Colorado 28...

UNC = 4-4 in bsc.
UM = 3-5 in bsc.

Hide your wife.....hide your kids....
stock up on water and head to the mountains....
shit is going down.

And thusly UNC finished higher in the BSC standings than we did.

Excuse me while I go throw myself over a bridge. :evil:

My reaction is s**t should come down. We finished behind UNC in the final conference standings, think about it! Something has to change in a big way, I don't know what must change, but steady-as-you-go isn't going to work.

The UNC posters that float thru here occasionally should have a field day with this.

4-4 or 3-5? Who the f#ck cares?

Oh, damn it!

If the Griz had won today we would have had the tiebreaker over NC based on head to head. What's wrong with me.

The issue is the Griz finish behind a time that should never be competitive with UM. With all due respect to UNC, they don't have the facilities, the budget, the fans, the tradition, or the players to be competitive with the Griz; yet they were. Something is not right in Grizzlyville, I hope the new AD can figure it out.

Coach Collins is rebuilding us back into the winners we were when we played D2. :) :)
I believe that. I remember UNC in its glory days in D2. It took longer than I thought, but UNC is establlshing itself in the BSC. I said so several times on this board. I once said UNC will by vying for the conference championship, and I now think that's possible.

No one here knows that UNC had as glorious a record in D2 as UM in the BSC. There's a good football tradition at UNC.

I honestly think our biggest problem was the incompetence of Scott Downing and the fact that he was allowed to coach here for 5 years, going 9-47 in the process. I think this season was the start of UNC gaining a foothold as a legitimate FCS football program that actually can succeed. We won't be world beaters anytime soon, but from here on out I expect us to be at least consistently competitive and challenge for the occasional playoff berth/conference title. If we can do that, the fans will come back. With a winning program we should double our average attendance, and by the end of the decade, I'd expect us to be consistently drawing 8-10k to Nottingham for games.

Nice finish to the end of the season for UNC. 4-1 down the stretch. :clap: :clap:

UNC's finish illustrates the value of good coaching.

And also the value of outnumbering your opponent. :lol:

The Big Sky Conference acknowledged Monday that officials failed to call a penalty near the end of Northern Colorado’s 28-27 victory over North Dakota on Saturday, Nov. 17.

Northern Colorado had 12 men on defense when it stopped North Dakota on a fourth-and-1 play from the Bears’ 34-yard line with 35 seconds remaining. Game officials missed the infraction, which should have resulted in a 5-yard penalty and a first down for North Dakota.

Northern Colorado instead took over possession and was able to run out the clock.
