Northern Arizona Lumberjacks Scouting Report

In my lifetime as a Griz fan I don’t ever remember us playing well in Flagstaff even when we have won. It will be a tough, trap game with the brawl on the horizon. Griz better not overlook this opponent or it won’t be a good day.

I've been an NAU fan since grade school and started following the Jacks in the mid 80's. NAU has a record of 6 wins and 25 losses vs. UM since 1986. The series has been more competitive from 2012 on with NAU holding a 3 wins to 2 losses edge recently.

The Griz may not always "play well" vs. NAU in Flagstaff but, historically, they find a way to win even when they don't dominate the other team. That's the sign of a steady and generally well coached program.
This might be the saddest thing I've ever read on the internet. My condolences.

Most fans recognize that the O line has been dismal in pass blocking for some time now. Everyone always comments for each upcoming game that they hope this has improved. Bottom line, it hasn't and if it hasn't this far into the season, I don't see how it will now. This is the teams Achilles heel at this point in the season and let's just hope the OC has finally instituted some play calls to help compensate for it.

You must be very young if these were before your lifetime.

11/5/2005 UM 23; NAU 0
11/1/2003 UM 59; NAU 21

I was thinking the same thing. Jerome Souers was legendary for choking against UM.
We had some much closer games in 2007 (21-16 W), 2009 (41-34 OT W), and 2011 (28-24 W) that all came down to the wire, and all of those teams were better than the 2003 and 2005 teams.

Hopefully we can reverse the trend and blow them out like it's 2005, or something.

Was the 2009 OT win the one Shann got the interception in their end zone to save the game?

Yes, tipped to him by Tru.
