North Dakota state

Three thoughts.

One, I have always respected Montana. Missoula is awesome, WaGrizz is an amazing stadium, and you have a great deal of history and pride to your program. We are neighbor states, and should root for one another in big games. I hate southern teams.

Second thought, almost all fans on fan board sites are morons. You are never going to get a true representation of someone by going on their fan site. Until you visit the Fargodome or Fargo, don't talk shit about it. The Fargodome is an amazing stadium. So what if it isn't placed in a beautiful mountain setting like your stadium. Our fans still love the place and it is still a huge advantage from the noise factor. Fargo is also a really nice city and a great college town. Do yourself a favor. Come to Fargo in a few years and check it out for yourself.

Third thought is for a new conference. I propose the following alignment. Montana, Montana State, NDSU, UND, SDSU, USD, Idaho (When they move back down) Idaho State, EWU, and UNC. Would be the best FCS conference ever.

i've found bison fans to be pretty awesome over the years. loved meeting some a couple years ago in bozeman. now that my brother-in-law lives in fargo i'm really looking forward to going there for the cat game next fall. (and hopefully a vikes game!) he manages the wild wings right next to the stadium and says the place gets rocking on game days. heard nothing but good things about the dome and i'm really looking forward to my trip. :thumb:

What the fans have to do with anything? Anything?

The NDS football team is damn good this season. Watching them play, they excel in all three phases of the game. At this point I don't see a team as good. Who gives a rats about their fans? They can be any way they want! It's the team that is damn good! Admit it and go on wishing your team was as good.

Besides all losing teams say "next year baby."

you are right cat lover...I am a GRIZ fan, but I married a Bisonette, I call her a buffalo gal.....like anywhere or anyone, they have their good fans and not so good.......lord knows we do......oh, and ps, we are going to the Vikes Seahawks game in Seattle 11/4...... GO SEAHAWKS !!!

Well, I have not posted on here for a long time but this thread is just too damn enticing.....LOL! It is always fun to read these threads and see the bitterness of the UND folks come out. I guess if my team was as horseshit as theirs, I might be a bit bitter too.

It is a long time until the game in Frisco, a lot can happen and a few key injuries can really change the look of a team. This Bison fan is certainly not taking anything as certain.

As for the fan base, I don't see us as being a hell of a lot different than the Griz fan base. We tend to get a little cocky at times but so do the Griz fans.....just read the other conference teams boards. In Fargo, you have to play in a dome to keep the attendance numbers up. Having spent some time during the winter in Missoula, let me just say there is quite a difference in how cold Missoula gets compared to Fargo. I was a fan that always bitched about playing indoors......now after passing the age of 50, I actually like going inside after drinking and freezing my ass off at a Tailgate!

Oh, that brings me to tailgating......probably the best two tailgate scenes in FCS football is Fargo and Missoula. Both fan bases are cocky.....but more than happy to provide cocktails and food for any FCS fan that wanders by (probably excluding UND fans at some places).

All in all, this Bison Fan hope the Griz get back on track and that we meet some day in Frisco for a title game. A battle of two great traditions that are next door neighbors would be one that is not soon forgotten. Too bad we did not wind up in the same conference.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. NDSU's offense is one of the highest ranked in the country. The Missouri Valley is consistently one of the toughest top to bottom. They have won 6 national championships as a conference. The Big Sky has won 5. Also since moving up to the FCS, NDSU has a 6-3 record against FBS teams. How many FBS teams has Montana beat in their whole history? The Fargodome is won of the loudest stadiums in the country, both NFL and FBS alike. The building is beautiful and the amenities are amazing. Have you ever been to Fargo? Metro population of 250,000. There is also a division 2 and division 3 school across the river. Combined college population of 30,000.

I have respect for Montana and their fans, but I hate idiots.
Jesus Christ...you are on crack. I lived in Fargo for 4 years, and went to at least a dozen Bison games. It's NOWHERE near as loud as the top FCS stadiums, and yet you bring FBS and NFL into this?

The FD is pretty loud yes...but that's because it's inside, with concrete walls surrounding the entire inside.

I was in the Horseshoe for Ohio State vs Penn State last year. That was 10x louder than any Bison game I saw. I've been to at least 50+ Griz games and even the crappy games were louder than it.

Dream on in fantasy land.

I have no horse in this race but I would give a slight edge to NDSU for overall FCS atmosphere. Their fans are extremely passionate and knowledgeable. I was amazed by the number of people that walked up to me, I was wearing a Lehigh shirt, and just started chatting about everything football. Montana seemed like drinking beer and "watching" the game were the priorities. I got the feeling that very few people knew anything about Liberty or cared to learn about them.

With that said, Montana has tremendous fans and a great stadium/game experience. NDSU, Montana, Delaware, App State and maybe GSU are the best of the best game days in FCS imo.

I've been to games at Washington/Grizzly and Kidd Brewer, and hopefully in the future, I'll make it to Delaware, and GSU.

IMO, ASU has the best game day experience, and facilities! Delaware, GSU, and McNeese might be as good as ASU, but I don't think ANYONE does it better than the Mountaineers...in so many ways!!

Comparing a regular season Griz game (after the worst off season in history) to a playoff game is apples to oranges. There probably has never been a better atmosphere in FCS than the app state game in 2009.

Told you so.

A pretty good D, but an offense which would be lucky to score 14 against a DIII team (though still better than the Grizzlies this year). :ugeek:

I did not make the "LOST" statement out of disrespect to your program or the quality of your team...actually probably a great point in the season to lose, if you're going to lose one... :thumb:
