Maybe they should have been benched for the first quarter as punishment to take a page out of the Grizzlies playbook. You should compare the situations. NDSU players owned up to it and didn't have a university official lead them by the hand to a big time donor. Penalties are usually lighter when you take it like a man. I really like the NDSU football program, and their fan base for a variety of reasons!

I don't know how their fans were before all their recent success, but regardless of that, I can't disagree with your thought on their fans being dicks! At this point, IMO, the NDSU fan base seems to be a mirrored image of the Griz fan base...back when we were beatin' everyone in the BSC, and making decent playoff runs every year...

From someone who still remembers the Camelia Bowl I have always resented NDSU because they always take home the hardware, that takes a grade of talent above and beyond to just have a dynasty with home field advantage. They have 8 national championships from DII are a single blown official's call from three-peating in the FCS after being in the division for only a few years. They get good players and the best coaches - how do they do it so consistently year in and year out? Is it Fargo is such a draw? I know there are three colleges there and I've heard it is a pretty happening place. I'm passionate about the Griz, but I think NDSU shows they are in a league by themselves.

As to the NDSU team as a whole, so they won some games. Several other teams have too. So they won one by a wide margin. So did the Griz. They play a pretty good defense, but typically their offense couldn't score 20 against a decent DIII team. The Bison play in a cream puff conference guaranteed to get them into the playoffs. Otherwise, pity the poor fools; The Bison have to live in Fargo. The Bison play inside a shiny quansett hut. The Bison jerseys copy the Green Bay Packers, unfortunately this has confused their fans into believing they are the Packers. So far ND State has been lucky. So far the Grizzlies have been sloppy. When we meet later this season both of those will be reversed. Bank on it.

I realize it is just a "technicality" but given that he has been convicted then legally he is innocent UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Of course the real question is whether he will be convicted and at this point hopefully nobody really knows else our legal system is rigged. Still, at this pont he is still INNOCENT. Damn inconvenient legal system (says the lynch mob).

You must have never been there or you're kidding. The only other FCS stadium that rivals WaGriz (but sometimes surpasses) is the FargoDome. People just don't know about it because they haven't been a part of the FCS that long. The Bison have a long tradition of winning championships, and they're on their way of starting a dynasty at the FCS level. I've been a fan of theirs ever since they came to WaGriz and beat us in OT back in 2003 as a lower division school. Then the conference rejected them to be included in the BSC.

I have to say the Bobcat/Bison playoff game in Bozeman two years ago was one of the most fun times I've had tailgating with the opposing fans. Every Bison fan I met was awesome to hang out with and they traveled very well. We actually ended up heading to the R-bar after the game with a few who were seated in our section.

I wish they were in the Bigsky....... not that I want to play them any sooner than needed this year though. :lol:

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. NDSU's offense is one of the highest ranked in the country. The Missouri Valley is consistently one of the toughest top to bottom. They have won 6 national championships as a conference. The Big Sky has won 5.Also since moving up to the FCS, NDSU has a 6-3 record against FBS teams. How many FBS teams has Montana beat in their whole history? The Fargodome is won of the loudest stadiums in the country, both NFL and FBS alike. The building is beautiful and the amenities are amazing. Have you ever been to Fargo? Metro population of 250,000. There is also a division 2 and division 3 school across the river. Combined college population of 30,000.

I have respect for Montana and their fans, but I hate idiots.

Where did you get these numbers? Div1AA Champions from the Big Sky: Boise State 1, Idaho State 1, Montana State 1, Montana 2, and Eastern Washington 1. Before last year, Youngstown State was the last team to win the NC and that was in '97. Also, Youngstown won 4 of the 6 NCs where the Sky's NCs are spread out to 5 teams, which would argue that the parity in the Big Sky is greater than that of the Valley.

The whole petition gate scandal brought a lot of bad publicity for the whole state. Most of the politicians in ND are beside themselves at the arrogance that NDSU's President and AD have for their total lack of context for football vs justice and punishment, yet the Bison fan base cheers their AD on as if he is some saint. Originally, NDSU's AD said they would wait for the criminal justice system to work itself out, as there was more to the story. But there never was more to the story: the NDSU players were guilty as hell. Then, after the CSU win, the NDSU AD said that these football players have been victimized in the press and that they don't deserve any punishment, as they have suffered enough and no suspensions would be forthcoming. NDSU's President kept apologizing and saying that NDSU would deal out punishment internally, but there's no proof that ever happened.

Every newspaper in the state of ND has editorialized against NDSU's lack of ethics and leadership. This is only one example.

As for the rest of your rant, I would like to respond, but out of respect for the Griz fans, I will refrain. I highly doubt they care to hear UND-NDSU fans banter on their website. I'm sure they get enough of that on other websites.

I have a lot of respect for the Montana football program, and I truly believe that most NDSU fans feel the same way. I cheer for Montana any game where they are not playing NDSU. I was hoping for an NDSU vs. Montana NC game last year.

Regarding the topic of this thread, obviously NDSU has been pretty dominant so far this year. However, any team can be beaten on any day. I just hope the players realize that so they don't get overconfident. I think this week will be a good test for them to see how they respond after a very successful homecoming game. Another couple games that worry me in the regular season are Illinois State and South Dakota State. I could see NDSU having a let down game, and if it happens against either of those teams, they could easily beat NDSU.

Wow a little pent up rage there....you mad bro? The UND/NDSU thing goes both ways and you are right UND shirts wouldn't go over to well at our tailgait, just as NDSU wouldn't at yours and most likely MSU at UM's and vice versa, but there are plenty of UNI fans that have commented on bieng treated very well at the games. I am sure that if I went up to a UND tailgait with my Bison shirt on I wouldn't catch any crap from anyone, since all the UND fans are so very nice and respectful......I'll call BS on that. Plus I have seen a Sioux shirt here and there at the tailgait lot, but certainly no one harassing them. At the same time though I am sure they get some smack talk stuff, but hell you'd have to be stupid to not expect some of that at least.....I find it comical that I see a UND shirt here and there at the tailgait even though we aren't playing you, but still some wear their UND stuff out to the tailgait, which is somewhat lame, but to each his own. I will never forget the beating the Bison gave us the last time they were in Missoula. I was so flipping mad at our coaches and to a degree, our team. But I appluaded the Bison as they left the field. They played hard, weren't intimidated and clearly didn't quit. You had to appreciate that. :thumb:

I became a huge Bison fan after that game. Of course I was very angry we lost, but I have loved the Bison ever since. Now that I live in the Fargo area, I have a huge affection for the North Dakota attitude as a whole. It is by far the most polite part of the country, and much more polite than Western Montana (Bozo and Missoula in particular) because the growth in the metro areas is not dominated by Southern Californians. I always wear my Griz Gear to Bison games and have never received more than good natured jabs about beating the Goody Guys. Usually I get in great conversations about how idiotic it was they weren't included in the BSC, something that is even more apparent now that we went ahead and included UND.

I'm not sure where the experiences of Bison fans being Richard Heads is coming from, but I for one love Bison fans and can't wait to see my home team in the Fargo Dome. You who come will absolutely love it!
